Amy Winehouse tribute thread

just post your favourite songs or say why you liked her.

For me her music had a kind of real soul we haven't heard in a long long time. When her vocals were on fire she was untouchable.

The only consolation is that her music will live on forever and the albums she's left us with are absolute classics. No question she will become iconic like so many other artists who died in their creative prime.

RIP Amy

this isn't going to sink in for a while. My favourite song of hers was also 'Love is a Losing Game', but I own both of her albums on CD and almost every song was great.

Doogle 23-07-2011 05:03 PM

I Heard Love Is Blind is my current fave.

-listening to her albums for the first time in years-

My favourite was probably Tears Dry On Their Own because that's the first one of hers I proper got into. As I recall it was hitting big just about the time she begun her descent into tabloid hell. Great tune. Very uplifting even though it feels like it shouldn't be for some reason.

 her music is fantastic.

Back to Black has always been one of my favourite albums of all time. Always will be.

Ninastar 23-07-2011 05:14 PM

She was on them way before those were recorded :p

Marc 23-07-2011 05:17 PM

24 songs is all we have

Doogle 23-07-2011 05:19 PM

Remixes and live performances are going to keep me going. I'm gonna search loads of (good) live performances by her and download them.

Zippy 23-07-2011 05:23 PM

Her image is incredibly iconic. Plus her music is timeless.

So there's no question she will continue to live on and probably even grow in stature as a music legend. Sometimes an artist has to die before they become fully appreciated. Sad fact.

Back to Black was my favourite song of hers, its one of my favourite songs ever, I adore it. I've been meaning to re-listen to her albums for weeks actually.

I still cannot believe this has happened. She was such a talent.

Just found her album Back to Black. It's the first album that I ever owned

It's one of those rare albums that you just LOVE every single song. If you get me? Usually there are 1 or 2 you don't care about much but she was just incredible and that album was her talent condensed.
