TiBB Photography Competition >> Round 3 [Results Posted]

Welcome to Round 3 of the TiBB Photography Competition 2011. First of all, I have to announce that due to unforseen circumstances, Iceman has had to withdraw from the competition.

This week, contestants were given two themes - Colours and Foliage. Here is what they came up with!

Theme 1: Colours
http://i51.tinypic.com/20gik34.jpg

Name: Colour Pile
Inspiration: I was in Art and Photography and i found lots of Colours and put them in a different order! I find it effective

Theme 2: Foliage
http://i54.tinypic.com/n31c1y.jpg

Name: Park View
Inspiration: I was walking through the park and decided it would be a great place for my picture. I love the park where i live and it has a great view from the top.

Jords

Theme 1: Colours
http://i52.tinypic.com/1pcikg.png

Inspiration: Colour is such a broad category; however inspiration came to be when I looked out my window and noticed the washing line pegs were colourful. I aimed to improve the substance of the photograph by hanging up patterned socks with these pegs and I made it more interesting by showing gradual distance.

Theme 2: Foliage
http://i55.tinypic.com/2lm111c.png

Inspiration: We have a fig tree in our front garden and decided to take that as my opportunity to produce a foliage photograph. I wanted the focus to be on a developing fig with leaves surrounding, which I managed with a close-up shot.

Locke.

Theme 1: Colours
http://i51.tinypic.com/2u4lg7n.jpg

Inspiration: Because I thought you'd all like to see these cakes my mum just brought in from Asda.

Theme 2: Foliage

Inspiration: Buster going for a walk

Theme 1: Colours
http://i54.tinypic.com/2w7hgeu.png

Name: Feel free to bump this thread, Beastie ;)
Inspiration: I had originally decided to take a picture of me wearing a colourful hula necklace before deciding that'd be a bit cheesy, when my eyes fell upon my mother's sewing kit. Loads of threads nicely arranged, bingo.

Theme 2: Foliage
http://i52.tinypic.com/ohu7w3.png

Name: Force of Nature
Inspiration: So since my backyard is an overgrown mess of weeds, moss and insects I decided it'd be perfect for this theme: as you can see the steps are quite unsafe  but there's a decent amount of ivy, moss, tufts of grass and some other foliage reclaiming what man's paved over.

Lewis. 23-07-2011 06:40 PM

Think that Shaun wins this week, hands down.

Jords 23-07-2011 06:41 PM

Shaun's colour one is amazing.

I love the contrast in the picture and the flash usage.

What precisely has MM&I got to 'grow up' about? She's put up her opinion on who she thinks is best to worst.

If you're going to enter public competions, you have to be prepared to accept those opinions. I actually think yours is probably the best this week - but there's no need for you to give it the 'oh grow up' nonsense because someone thinks differently.

Note: has not voted yet.

Shaun 23-07-2011 07:37 PM

And I'm sure it was all reasoned rationally and not at all influenced by an irrelevant hatred for me. Shut up, Pyramid, you daft old goat.

There was absolutely nothing to gain by purposefully including me as last. I don't care if you didn't vote for me, just don't make a point of how awful you think my photos were.

Novo 23-07-2011 08:02 PM

That is not Buster that looks like a cats paw to me :suspect:

Locke. 23-07-2011 08:04 PM

That was Buster at about 6pm

Shaun 23-07-2011 08:06 PM

As for everyone else's photos - I like the French Fancies idea, it's original  and I love Jarrod's foliage photo. I think this is the strongest round so far.

I said this weeks ago and suggested that names are not shown: only the photos - to avoid this very thing.

Jords 24-07-2011 06:09 PM

tbf I think it would be easy to work out who's who because of how we write our inspiration, plus Buster is always in Locke's photo :laugh3:

I didn't.

Given that I have in the past 2 weeks, placed you first in my voting, I voted you in higher positions over other people in the competition, people that I actually do like. Makes you look a little bit foolish now eh Shaun. Check with Mollie....

you can be sure of one thing. I might be that little bit more biased in my voting next time. ;)

Jarrod 24-07-2011 06:13 PM

I think the Forum are going to choose the people who have been here longest. So.. :/ I swear i'm going..
