Apple now has more cash to spend than the United States government.

Latest figures from the US Treasury Department show that the country has an operating cash balance of $73.7bn (£45.3bn).

Apple's most recent financial results put its reserves at $76.4bn.

The US House of Representatives is due to vote on a bill to raise the country's debt ceiling, allowing it to borrow more money to cover spending commitments.

If it fails to extend the current limit of $14.3 trillion dollars, the federal government could find itself struggling to make payments, and risks the loss of its AAA credit rating.

The United States is currently spending around $200bn more than it collects in revenue every month.

Apple, on the other hand, is making money hand over fist, according to its financial results.

In the three months ending 25 June, net income was 125% higher than a year earlier at $7.31bn.

Wait a few years and imagine the technology Apple will have then. Assuming something massively **** doesn't occur. I don't see Apple stopping anytime soon.

They'll just release more of the same crap

Everything with i in front of it is basically a different version of the same thing

They could combine the iPad, iPod and iPhone into one thing, basically they just take away features on each one then promote each product as if it is something revolutionary, and the hipsters eat it up.

Well said Chewy.

Although I do love going into the Apple store and seeing all the technology and just being like 'YEAH THIS IS ******ING IT, THE FUTURE YEAH! :amazed:'

And then having all the 'Geniuses' staring at you.

Theyve done iPod, theyve done iPhone, theyve done iPad. Surely we cant be far from the unveiling of the iSlab...

lostalex 31-07-2011 12:44 AM

It would be cool if they make an iPhone that like could transform into an iPad with the press of a button. Like it would fold out or something like a transformer.
