Save & Replace vs. Power of Veto

Which do you think is better? I prefer Save & Replace as it is simpler in that you just have the nominated HMs competing and they just replace themselves with another. Whereas in the American one they seem to give the HoH alot of power in most (if not all) of them. Then there is the possibility of the nominations just remaining completely the same which isn't as exciting. Obviously the British variation was inspired by other Big Brothers like the American one. But what is your opinion on this?

I didn't like the save and replace part last series, the tasks were daft in the main and I preferred how it had been before.None of that nonsense.

It made it a bit more unpredictable though.

Nah Save and Replace was lameee in UK it seemed that no body actually really wanted it nearer the end. PoV > S&R

I didn't like save & replace but I love PoV. BBUK and BBUS are both social experiments/gameshows, but to me, BBUK is 90% social experiment and BBUS is 90% gameshow. So I feel that in BBUK, if you're nominated, you should stay nominated, whereas in the US PoV is a part of the game.

Because the HGs have the final say in eviction people can still negotiate with others to try and change their mind. But I think a lot of that is just in theory because people's minds aren't changed that much really. I wonder if HGs are less surprised at evictions than they might be in the British series (as they don't always know the public's opinion).

PoV

But S&R is good and is a seriously underrated addition (people act blind when their favourite goes because of it forgetting its worked the other way around to!)

I prefer PoV because there's nothing better than a perfectly executed "backdooring".

BB4 POV > any other substitute.

Everyone being able to play makes it better IMO.

Housemates are rarely surprised, in BBUSA, especially, after the first 2 weeks, when lines are already drawn.
I id like the save and replace, but just because the public decides, in the UK, I think its kind of pointless. It was always entertaining though.

The public doesn't decide, i thought the housemate that won S&R got to decide the replacement, right?

The public decides who is ultimately evicted. It's the preliminary stage where people are nominated where the HM is changed, and only one HM is changed the rest who are up stay nominated. So I think it adds a nice unpredictable element.
