12 people

Maia 30-07-2011 11:56 AM

Roughly 1m. I can't see it getting 3m+ like it got on Channel 4.

Andrew. 30-07-2011 11:58 AM

BB12; About... 1 Milllion (when, word spreads everyone will be interested to watch it coming back, maybe the moaners will think 'oh hey its on another channel, different presenter, maybe its changed for the goof, ill give it a try.)

BB13; Word spreads again that its back, more and more viewers watch it...

And so on and so on. or i think maybe the launch might not get that much... but maybe half way in when people have nothing to watch and they just flick through the tv listings and see it theyll watch it....

really? i never figured it would be that low
for them to reach 4 mil on launch
they would need to cover daily star and ok magazine ect for a week

i dont see it beng that low
thats roughly highlight shows

Series averages were at an all time low during BB10 (2.5m). It could be argued that this is the number of core fans that the show attracts. I believe that without extensive advertising, BB12 will probably only attract this core group of fans.
Having said that, running the Celebrity version first could prove fruitfull (as this tends to attract more casual viewers). However, without a couple of big names, this could be a risky strategy as many fans prefer the main show to the Celeb version.
These two factors may cancel each other out though. So I predict a season average for CBB at around 2.5m (with launch night and final night perhaps topping 3m)
I think the success of BB12 very much depends on the popularity of CBB. But as a guess I would say minimum 2m and max 3.5m with an average of 2.5-3m.
Just a guess mind

Celeb launch 2.4 million then average 1.2 million for the highlights

Bb12 2.1 million for the launch then averaging 1.1-1.2 million for the highlights and live shows. This is considering they get a stellar cast.

Which is a lot of viewers considering corrie and eastender are stuck at around 8 million

I suppose as-well it depends when they air Big Brother. If it airs at around 9pm-10pm that's a Prime-Time Slot after the Watershed. BB Would be great to air at 9pm. If it's on too late maybe some won't watch the program.

Pronshi 30-07-2011 01:24 PM

I didn't realise how low the ratings could be
I assumed most BB fans would know its on,
then lots of non fans would give it a chance on the new channel
either way 1 million is the least it will get and even for channel 5 thats amazing!

Loukas 30-07-2011 01:59 PM

Just under 3 million on launch, then sinking to 1.7/1.9??

daniel-lewis-1985 30-07-2011 02:30 PM

2 million max

can some tell me tho? are these ratings good for channel 5?
Also does anyone seeing it going on for another 10 years?
because it will be the best preforming show for channel 5

Jordan. 30-07-2011 03:07 PM

Launch sub 2M, 1M after that. Depends if they advertise outside the Desmond bubble.

Not a chance will it be on for another 10 years - the majority of the public see Big Brother as this trashy reality show for chavs and wannabies, so unless C5 can somehow magically change everyones opinions of the show then it will never get the viewers it needs to stay on that long.

If the show can keep up 1.5m-2m viewers throughout the two year deal then I see the show going on for another three or so years after that, but a total of 5 years is the absolute maximum I think, by that point, after 15 years of Big Brother, most people (even some of the fans) will probably be sick of it!

Marcus. 30-07-2011 04:34 PM

any many as to get the to make more

i guess so...
I like the show. Big Brother And Im A Celebrity is the only trash shows I like, Im not a chav i hate most chavs. I hate other trash tv like geordie shore and TOWIE all boring shows

I agree If Desmond wants to pull this one off he is going to have work hard, from what ive seen this is going to be one massive FLOP

I'm just going to try and enjoy this series as much as possible because there's every chance this series will fail and it will be cancelled yet again, and once it's been cancelled twice I very much doubt that some other channel will pick it up. It really will be the end of Big Brother. :bawling:
