EastEnders sinks to 6.7m...
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2...y-evening.html
Don't give me "the weather excuse" - Corrie was almost 1 million ahead of it. The public is now starting to realise how ****e EastEnders is becoming....I hope the ratings keep falling, so the BBC can take action and axe the awful Bryan Kirkwood. |
Not really surprising, the storyline with the Moons is really boring me at the moment.
|
This is just another excuse for them to do an even more outrageous storyline than the baby swap one, which was so depressing I dont know how anyone could call it 'entertainment'. This show grabs viewers attention for all the wrong reasons.

you made this thread twice
|
They will be back above 10 million once Alfie is back from holiday

Corrie has always been better and it's taking people this long to realise :bored:

The characters in Eastenders are just awful. *Looks at Fatboy*

I don't care about the ratings, as long as people that watch EastEnders enjoy it then that is what matters:). Of course the show needs to be in a better state though!

Hollyoaks >>

6.7m is good (ish) for any show, BUT, for such a high-performing show, a soap, like EastEnders, it really should be much higher. Yes, less people watch TV in the summer, but 7.5m+ should be expected for this time of year. Last year was EastEnders' most watched summer since 2004 ( :o ), and ratings were above 9m.
|
I'm a massive Eastenders fan but even I'll admit that it's going down the drain at the moment.

I think all the soaps are having a struggle with really good and gripping storylines just now. Emmerdale has a good one at present with the Jackson saga,Hollyoaks is even better than Eastenders at present, but then I always found EE rather depressing.
Corrie will likely be starting the Stape saga again too, there just seems a lack of continuity and relevant storylines from the writers. I strongly suggest that our soap writer 'Conor takes over the writing of the soaps on TV as his storylines are really interesting and if he was assisted by Kerry all the official TV soaps could well improve greatly. |
None of the soaps are doing brilliantly at the minute. Emmerdale's starting to show signs of improvement, but it's still quite poor. Corrie's gone down the pan with the boring, OTT storylines, e.g. the climax to the John Stape storyline, etc, and EastEnders...well, that's been in decline since September 2010. It feels like 2008 at the minute, wherein all soaps had a struggle.
2004 and 2006 go down as some of the worst years for EastEnders, largely because they had heavy competition, i.e. Corrie and Emmerdale were performing very well during that period. 2009 saw the press lay into Corrie and Emmerdale - during this period, EastEnders was performing quite well, and the public majority will agree on that. In 2008, all soaps had a struggle, similar to now, 2011. Why are the press laying into Corrie? It's far better than EE, at the moment. |
None of the new characters have worked, they need to axe them and bring the show back to it's roots. Maybe bring one or two old favorites back too like Sharon and Sonia or Chrissie Watts. I still have about a month's worth of episodes to watch but I just can't be bothered with the show, the quality has declined so much this year, it's sad to see.
|
Lola seems pretty pointless now as well, they just don't seem to know what to do with her
|
They don't know what to do with anyone. None of BK's cast additions have worked. Why bring in characters if you don't know what to do with them?
|
Kirkwood needs to go, if the show wants to stand any chance of improving. Former Hollyoaks producers, should never be hired for EastEnders, this just proves it.
|
Let's hope the ratings keep falling, so the BBC can axe Bryan Kirkwood.
