Goverment blocks website blocking order.
The court order that would force bt to start blocking certain websites has been binned.
Common sense prevails it was a ridiculous and unworkable plan the u.s. justice department once again trying to shove its nose in where it doesnt belong. http://www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/indus...05301582.story http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-14372698 Vince cable has gone further also announcing the law will be clarified to make it clearer that ripping digital copies and converting them into other formats to be burnt to disc for personal use or to be shared with immediate family is not illegal. Also parodies of songs are not illegal and cannot be pursued through court or blocked. "The review pointed out that if you have a situation where 90% of your population is doing something, then it's not really a very good law," said Simon Levine, head of the intellectual property and technology group at DLA Piper. Put that in your pipe and smoke it mpaa :joker: |
A wise move in the long run.

As for making copies of cds or dvds if i buy something then its mine and i will do whatever i please with it rip it copy it play it in my house while there are other people there. (everybody always has but at least its clear that it is legal now) The fact that hospitals have been struggling to update databases because of a fear of processing files in a digital format without having the permission of every single person in the files shows how messed up and outdated copyright law has become. |
