Kate wants to hire BB house for sister's wedding

Kate Lawler is hoping to hire out the Big Brother house for her big sister Kelly's wedding reception later this year.

The unusual venue costs up to £30,000 a night to hire.

It is intended for hire for corporate events, but organisers say they will make an exception for the series winner.

Explaining how she planned to spend her £70,000 prize money, Kate told OK! magazine: "I'm going to pay for my sister Kelly's wedding or honeymoon, and I've suggested we have the reception in the Big Brother house.

"They're hiring it out so we could have a pool party."

Endemol UK is turning the house in Elstree Studios, Hertfordshire, into a party venue from next month. Event organiser Skybridge has put together a range of packages for partygoers costing from £18,000 to £30,000 a night.

A Skybridge spokesman said: "The house is for hire for corporate events rather than private parties, but I'm sure for Kate we could make an exception."

Kate, 22, from Beckenham, Kent, said she also planned to spend her money on paying off her parents' mortgage and treating her family to a holiday.

In the interview she admitted having enjoyed a clandestine kiss with Spencer away from the watchful eye of the Big Brother cameras.

"We had a proper snog under an England flag in the garden. We felt like naughty schoolkids. It was a lovely kiss - the best one in the house," she said.

I can't believe she wants to hand back £30,000 of her winnings back to channel 4, she must have had enough of it in there. Either that or she's gone mad. It's got to be a tabloid bit of nonsence. :conf: I mean who in there right mind would waste 30 grand on a night out in the house she's been in for the last 10 weeks. :shocked: :shocked: :shocked:

I think it would be brilliant to hire the house. I shouldn't think Kate will have to pay 30 grand for the privelidge either. She was probably joking about the whole thing as well. You know what she's like :joker: :joker: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

I bet they would'nt expect her to pay at all :thumbs: I think if any of the housemates wanted to have a party there one night they would'nt have to pay if they do then i would be :shocked: :shocked: :shocked:

I'm sure OK would be glad to cover the wedding, especially as the BB winner will be a big part of the wedding party (and her guest may be the punter from Cambridge!!). Kate may not have to dip into her pocket at all - the mag will pay. If hiring the BB house is a serious option (and we don't really know that for sure) then it may be something the Lawler family could consider - after all, Hello or OK did something similar for Victoria Beckham's sister, Louise.
