BB12 Will Have 'Flashbacks' According to Marcus Bentley.
 

According to Marcus this year's show is going to have 'Flashbacks' in Black and White which he shall narrate.

They're giving Marcus alot of airtime. :idc:

Anyway - yeah so he seems pretty pleased about it.

I don't really mind that to be honest, just as long as it isn't too over done - and it doesn't seem too much like a soap opera!

I'm sure BBUSA do something like this :rolleyes: as does The Real World, and it does make the show seem really fake and stuff - but I guess it'll help keep people up to date or something?

To be honest they should just have a 'Yesterday on Big Brother..' screen before the titles - rather than this but oh well.

Yeah they do this with BBUSA, I don't really see the point of it though myself but I suppose it's good for people who have missed the odd episode. I wonder if he will say "Previously on Big Brother..." like they do with the US version.

Yeah Callum, I mean even if he just said like 'Previously on Big Brother...' that wouldn't be so bad - because then they could cut all the flashbacks out and stuff and just have a recap and in the recap they could include whatever is relevant to the 'Storyline' in that episode.

I absolutely hate this idea. All I want is to see people living in a house not some over produces television show.

Noo :'( thats what ruined last years BB with over done editing, it just does not suit BB. I will not be watching if its going to be like last years, it was terrible.

I don't want this because it isn't needed. In BBUSA it's a nice reminder of the last episode (because it's only on three times a week), but with it not having a storyline, it isn't needed.

Yeah but the producers will try and make a storyline like they did in 2010.

In BBUSA:

Thursday - Eviction and HoH
Sunday - Nominations
Wednesday - PoV

So on the Wednesday show it has 'Previously on Big Brother' and about a 2 minute summary of the Thursday and Sunday show. Then it ends with 'Tonight, who will win the Power of Veto, and will they use it to save someone from eviction? Find out tonight on Big Brother!' then the titles.

I believe this wouldn't work with the UK.

Yes in the US version its a common style of editing. For their BB they only do it at the start and end of each show. When it gets to the extreme they do it before every ad break. Basicaly they summurise what you just saw tell you whats comming up then do the ads and then you get a summary of the first half and whats comming in the next section. In the use a one hour show can have less than 15 mins of actual unique footage. If BB uk HLs go that way I will not be watching.

Absoloutely none of this rubbish. The highlight show production needs to be kept minimal. That's the beauty of Big Brother for it's first ten years on Channel 4. Especially combined with the way the show used a Channel 4 continuity announcer and a the channel's font. It felt less like a show and more like sixty minutes of channel 4 stopping all shows and just looking into some house.

'Previously on' should only be used for dramas and for my mate to shout out loud at the start of Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 in the cinema because that was ****ing hillarious.

They should just do a "previously" screen before the opening titles like they used to have a "coming up" screen in older series.

Really not pleased about this. They should have a 'Coming Up', but not 'flashbacks'. It's just cheesy and it doesn't suite BB at all... :bored:

i think a previously on big brother is a good idea but coming up is terrible

They always did "coming up" at the start in previous series. This isn't new.
