Its not only Ireland who cant get Channel 5

Wales cant either.

Thats alot of lost viewers.

BringItOn 17-08-2011 12:21 PM

Seriously?? It will hardly get past the 1m mark at this rate.

daniel-lewis-1985 17-08-2011 12:26 PM

They can get it in Cardiff but where im from in South Wales and most of the surrounding areas cant get it unless you have Sky

LaLaLand 17-08-2011 12:27 PM

I can get it here in North Wales...

RichardG 17-08-2011 12:27 PM

Ireland not being able to watch was bad enough considering the amount of Irish Jedward fans who i'm sure would have bumped up the viewing figures, but if some parts of Wales can't get it then it's a bit of a disaster really.

DigitalSid 17-08-2011 12:33 PM

Wales can't get Channel 4.

Sophiee 17-08-2011 12:34 PM

they should just make it viewable everywhere, they're losing so many possible viewers.

Patrick 17-08-2011 12:34 PM

I came into this thread with my hands covering my eyes wishing for it to be either Wales or Scotland missing out - because if not, then Northern Ireland wouldn't get it and I would literally break down on this day in tears.

But LOL at Wales - it must suck to live there.

True, those without Sky relied on S4C to watch BB (usually an hour or so later than C4).

Sky or Freesat

Both do Free
With SkyFreesat its a one off payment to get it fitted - then Free

Freesat you need a dish
and then buy a box to connect then Free

Freeview is not picked up in every Zone.
Thats why there is Freesat that works from a Sky Dish.

Virgin - yes if they have done your Strreet with Cables

So what approximate percentage of household get Channel 5, if you consider all that??

Just asking BTW, I just want an idea!

Callum 17-08-2011 12:55 PM

Wales can get it! I live in Wales and I can get Channel 5.

Well everyone has to change as the Old Signal is closing in most places

Old People get a Free Freeview box
or Freesat box if in the Zone of no freeview pick up.
Everyone home gets a letter
saying the BBC pays for your fitting if Old or Disabled etc.

So Most will change this year
any that do not are not watching TV

Well Irish fans not watching won't effect the viewing figures, as we aren't included in UK viewing figures.

It will, obviously, mean less people watching but it won't make a difference to the viewing figures.

dawa 17-08-2011 02:03 PM

People in wales can also watch it on places like tvcatchup.com , totally legal.

saraholeila 17-08-2011 02:04 PM

I'm in Ireland and would LOVE if SKY added Channel 5 to our package so we could record, pause etc. At least we can watch it through 'Other Channels' but not a lot of people know that and if they have UPC instead there's no hope.
Can't get 5* though, so will lose out on some episodes of BBBOTS. Anyone know if they'll be posted on a YouTube channel or something?
Thanks! :)

Just want to let people know, if you have Sky Digital in Ireland or Wales you should be able to get it (I am in Dublin and can get it perfectly).

Not sure if any other systems can do it (possibly FreeSat I think).

I have FULL INSTRUCTIONS on how to install Channel 5 on SKY on my website, here you go -

http://bbuk4network.com/bbuk4/pre-ne...-get-channel-5

Also, we have a new site design coming at 9pm tonight, just to let you know
