Is a human life more important than an animals?

Say a Polar Bear, Tiger or Cat?

Locke. 17-08-2011 03:00 PM

Depends what human

Lee. 17-08-2011 03:03 PM

Yes, I would say so

Marc 17-08-2011 03:03 PM

Put it this way I would save my dog over a stranger

Feel free to quote my post and go on about how my opinions are wrong etc. I don't care :idc:

Boothy 17-08-2011 03:04 PM

If I had to choose, I'd prefer to see a human die than an animal. Dunno why I think like that but I do.

Ramsay 17-08-2011 03:05 PM

I'd say they are just as important as humans
Like I'd save a friend or family member over some random dog or cat or something
But I'd also save my dog over a random person i dont know

Vicky. 17-08-2011 03:06 PM

I would be a bit of a hypocrite to say no, since I regularly eat animals.

However, I would much rather see a random human die than my pet. (And I know that sounds harsh :/ )

I guess I'm a hypocrite either way.

Really?? I don't like seeing anything die, but seeing a human die would affect me far more

rk3388 17-08-2011 03:07 PM

Depends what human to me too. And it depends if its the life of one animal or the life of many animals.
Lets just say if a bull fighter or seal hunter or dolphin catcher were in trouble, I dont think i would save them :S

Waaw!!:shocked: This really shows, the state of humanity for real. At least this demographic, reading this thread. Shocking!
I have had pets, cats mainly throughout my life, but no way in hell, will I save any of them, over my worst enemy, of a human being. I still know the difference between the brain, self awareness, of an animal, and that of a human being!

I am actually quite shocked reading some of the answers, because I honestly didnt think, people were like that, in general. But then again, maybe its just this country, or just the Tibb demographic. Live and learn!

Well im certainly closer to my dog/cat so i have no problem choosing my pets over my mortal enemy

Wildcat! 17-08-2011 03:13 PM

LIke I said, live and learn!

Ammi 17-08-2011 03:13 PM

It really does depend on the human - if it were someone like Ian Huntley, I wouldn't even have to think about it

I mean seriously!! The only thing I can think of, is maybe, you feel completely abandoned by society, so much so, that you value your pets life over humans. YOu must not have anyone else other than your pets in your life. IN which case, I could understand. But that would be extremely sad!

I thought that too tbh

rk3388 17-08-2011 03:23 PM

what im saying is i dont think humans should die (obviously) but they shouldnt kill animals for fun or abuse them, because there just as important as us IMO

Tom4784 17-08-2011 03:25 PM

Of course they are. I like animals but I'd never put one's life above a human's.

Ammi 17-08-2011 03:30 PM

I'm not talking about some random hedgehog crossing the road but if the choice was to save a much loved pet or the life of a child killer or an evil nutjob like the guy responsible for the Norway killings Anders Breivik, I know my choice and I would sleep well having made it

Stu 17-08-2011 03:32 PM

Is a human life more important than an animals? To me yes because I'm a human [except in extreme cases like the above]. However I have no grudge with the tiger that disagrees.

Also had a minor pants explosion at Dezzy's current Last FM play.

ILoveTRW 17-08-2011 03:34 PM

my dogs life is more important than 99% of humans but on the whole humans>animals

Livia 17-08-2011 03:44 PM

I think all sentient life is important. As humans are in a unique position of power, we have a duty to make sure animals don't suffer in our care, that if they're eaten they are humanely slaughtered, that their habitat is protected and that they're not subjected to cruelty or neglect at our hands.

InOne 17-08-2011 03:46 PM

As people have said, depends on the human.

Why "of course"?

Crimson Dynamo 17-08-2011 03:47 PM

Six hunters were sent in by the emergency services to kill the mother bear and her three cubs.

(why?)
