Boys Wearing Fake Tan | Good or Bad?

So what do you think about boys/men wearing fake tan??

I started this thread coz someone who I used to go to school with posted on facebook that boys that wear fake tan are all gay and feminine and that really pissed me off :nono: I think its perfectly okay for a male to wear fake tan, my dad does, my brother does and so do a couple of my male friends.

I wear fake tan all the time because I hate they way I look pale so why shouldnt men be allowed to use it?

Is it more accepted in gay men than straight men?

The girl who posted that was a slut anyway so she cant exactly judge people

Seems a bit pansy to me. Just my opinion of course.

Yeah to me it seems very feminine, its basically make-up

Stu 17-08-2011 07:20 PM

I think it's absoloutely absurd looking on men. And this is coming from someone who uses eyeliner and nail polish.

It's not the fact that it's feminine or that it's makeup. People who give those arguments tend to be right pricks. Certain cultures of men can get away with eyeliner and nail polish. Fake tan is a whole other story. It just looks wrong on an aesthetic level, IMO. Even if it was invented for men I would say that.

Callum 17-08-2011 07:26 PM

Awful, it looks disgusting, I would never wear it personally.

seanraff07 17-08-2011 07:28 PM

It just doesn't look right. I'd be embarrassed to wear it and I'd get a hell a lot of stick for it too.

*High 5*

It could depend on what part of the country you're from aswell I guess :/ down south in west berkshire where I am, its quite common to see male's with fake tan and I imagen it is up near Newcastle etc. but in places like London I imagen it would be less common.

Boothy 17-08-2011 07:33 PM

I wouldn't wear it, but then, I wouldn't wear any sort of make-up either. I don't really like the look, it's not my style. Plus, I couldn't be arsed fannying around putting it on and stuff. It's bad enough having to use a hair dryer when I get out the shower, can't imagine having to do put fake tan, eyeliner, mascara etc. on as well.

Firewire 17-08-2011 07:39 PM

I suppose it depends. Heavy use of it looks ridiculous, on women and men, more-so on men though. And I think fake tan looks tacky. Everyone who wears at my school is a slut. Not a good look.

Chuck 17-08-2011 08:23 PM

I usually find it pathetic but Joel McHale looks 20x better with a bit of fake tan.

Niall 17-08-2011 08:39 PM

I don't mind it so long as it isn't ridiculously orange or something. If it makes the skin looks slightly tanned then I don't see any harm. If it makes the man look like he just took a bath in orange paint then God no.

CharlieO 17-08-2011 08:43 PM

I don't mind it. But if you look like an Umpa Lumpa then it looks silly.

Its also better than trying to naturally tan if you have a history of skin cancer in your family.

Josy 17-08-2011 08:44 PM

I don't like it.

This is true. I think I'd get a spray tan anyday rather than getting on a tanning bed or something.

joeysteele 17-08-2011 11:34 PM

I wouldn't use it.

MTVN 17-08-2011 11:38 PM

Only ever considered it once, when I was going away to Greece and looked ridiculously pale, I'm crap at naturally tanning, it can look pretty awful if too much is on though

Patrick 17-08-2011 11:41 PM

I tan awesomley.

It's just that in April when it was warm I tanned like ****** and got like properly bullied in school for like the rest of that year because everyone thought I was a fag that wore Fake Tan and one of the teachers threw a babywipe at me and I walked out of Geography all dramatically over it.

It just sucks in Winter though when it'll wear off. :suspect:

I never tan and even when I go on holiday to a hot country and I come back pale it's never occurred to me that I should whack out the tan.

It looks odd.
