do you think this could refer to the tough time channel 4 had making the show a success after the race row?
and how ultimately Big Brother is a tough character and survived in the end despite channel 4's desperate attempts to bury him?

Well yes it was a quote from one of the housemates but put in the context of being the first line of the show and channel 4's last line was "Big Brother will get back to you" its almost as if Big Brother himself is speaking.

They put it at the start of the show. That was the opening return line so yeh makes sense.
