Embrace the change

Why are people insisting they're trying to be clever with editing! It's a new production company with a different exhibition style! Trying to make it fun and interesting rather than bird song

You dont like it because your not used to it it's not a bad change it's jut a big one and it takes time to adjust to change

Please give it a chance

Watch it with an open mind an stop expecting it to be exactly like the ch4 series

It's 3 episodes in for god sake it's going great guns

This time last year we thought we'd never see it again and here we have a production company giving it all they've got to make this new and fresh and exciting

Channel 4 killed it an channel 5 are going all out to bring it back

They may be having teething problem in your opinion! But don't write it off after 3 days

It's only the beginning of an exciting new era

CharlieO 20-08-2011 09:46 PM

Embrace the right for others to have opinions please.

Channel 5 are killing the show further.

Stu 20-08-2011 09:47 PM

Yes ... let's all have our own thread for talking about the new production.

Stop making excuses for me. I am open minded and I am open to change. I just despise this editing. It's not because it's new, it's not because it's not Channel 4 ... I just don't like it. I hate it.

It's not that hard to understand, is it?

LaLaLand 20-08-2011 09:48 PM

Channel 5 are doing a great job with it, they've done the unimaginable and brought back earlier viewers that switched off years ago (from what I've seen locally to me - "It's good this year isn't it!" is what I'm hearing alot from people who haven't watched since BB7).

fingers 20-08-2011 09:49 PM

It's dead in the water, face up to it.

Jordan. 20-08-2011 09:49 PM

C4 didn't kill the show FFS :bored:

Grimnir 20-08-2011 09:50 PM

i don't think it has changed much really, it seems just like CH4 BB but with minor differences such as the pointless music and names added to remind those with alzheimer's who they are watching

i would embrace change if they totally went old school and distanced themselves entirely from the later CH4 BB series

and the BOTS show is just the same as the gutter show big mouth, just more badly produced

If you listen to some people Channel 4 are the devil and have purposely been trying to sabotage their own ratings since about 2007.

stargazer 20-08-2011 09:52 PM

Embrace the change in style? I would if it gave more coverage but it has cut it down, we got about 15 mins out of the hour tonight watching them interact! It is NOT good enough, what with the adverts every 10 mins and the back tracking on what we saw yesterday...IMO it is NOT worth watching.I have been been a BB fan for years, was looking forward to this ,terribly disappointed , someone needs to get their act together to sort this out,we want more coverage and no interruptions.

elliebrew 20-08-2011 09:52 PM

Did ch4 not bury the show last year! Did they not have a funeral for it

Stu your too negative for me

CharlieO 20-08-2011 09:53 PM

I am open to change just not this change. I love every single series of BB Channel 4 and there are millions of changed through out them.

Considering none of the original concepts which define the name Big Brother are no longer present, Channel 5 has not resurrected Big Brother, C5 prancing around in his old clothes destroying his reputation.

iRyan 20-08-2011 09:53 PM

At the end of the day, it's Endemol and the production team in charge of Big Brother, not Channel 5. The production team has stayed the same as it's been throughout the years, they are the ones who have made this change. It's not like 'OMG, CHANNEL 5 HAS RUINED BB!!!11'

They already started this type of editing during BB11. Even if BB stayed on Channel 4, this editing would have happened eventually.

Ramsay 20-08-2011 09:54 PM

Im trying I really am

Locke. 20-08-2011 09:55 PM

Why are you always posting threads about "embrace"ing things?

Just let people have their own opinions and stop using that stupid word.

Channel 4 don't produce the show. They only commision it.

A funeral was held because it was believed at the time that Big Brother was going away for awile. It was a smart gimmick and useful marketing theme.

Big Brother isin't a real person. They didn't actually twat him upside the head with a shovel and give him a Texas burial in the woods of Borehamwood.

I thought they buried Marcus in the garden outside the window.

Watching an episode from BB7 and the editing style then was so easy and basic..I miss it :(

CharlieO 20-08-2011 10:04 PM

How was sticking to a concept of an incredibly revolutionary reality show, killing it off?

All Channel 5 has done is blur the lines of reality, destroyed everything that defined Big Brother as Big Brother and turned it into a parody of every other reality show on the planet that was previously seen as inferior to Big Brother.

:bored: Which explains why the ratings have shot up and everyone is talking about Big Brother for the first time in 5 Years...

Exactly - thank you Jonnii.

It's like I said, it feels like BB8-BB11 never happened and we've just fallen right back into the Golden years again.

It's marvellous and really great to watch, everyone is talking about it - even chavs who use to attack me in school for liking the show, have even commented on it on Facebook and stuff.

Right, I do prefer the old editing to be honest - but I don't have that big a problem with the new one although it does have it's flaws that we will get use too.

It seems like they're missing alot because they would rather squeeze in clips of Jedward constantly.

But yeah if I had a choice I'd pick the old style any day.

Channel 5 have done ****** all? It's Endemol that create the show.

I agree with you to an extent though but it's time for the show to bloody evolve - if they had of stayed on the route it was going in 2009, the show would of just failed even more.

Endemol tried to take BB11 on some exciting new American route last year and it flopped.

I think they're getting a balance right this year - they're bringing back old viewers, maintaining the hardcore fans and at the same time gripping a hold of new fans.

True but I am just talking about the new era and its easier to refer to Channel 5 for ruining it.

And its been 3 days you cannot judge ratings so far. I bet they will fall. They were only high on launch because of the lies about rumoured celebs.

And I am a hardcore fan but they are not keeping me interested at all.

BBGermany 20-08-2011 10:53 PM

as soon as they go back to being "Big Brother" and Not try to be the American house Ill stop complaining

Valdora 20-08-2011 11:00 PM

-See my post on the other thread-

Sophiee 20-08-2011 11:36 PM

I don't mind the changes, it doesn't bother me a lot.

Gillian-73 21-08-2011 12:56 AM

I don't mind most of the changes i like what's been done with it apart from a couple of little things and yeah it's not ideal only having a highlights show but i'm just gonna enjoy it for what it is whilst hoping something gives for BB12! i'm glad it's back on my tv i expect it will entertain me!
