Celebrity Big Brother: Sally Bercow facing 'gruesome' divorce

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s150/...e-divorce.html

Quote:

Sally Bercow could be facing a "gruesome" divorce from husband John due to her decision to compete in Celebrity Big Brother.

The 41-year-old is alleged to have infuriated her husband, who is speaker of the House of Commons, by ignoring concerns that her participation in the reality show could undermine his position.

"There is no doubt that this could end his marriage," a friend of the speaker told The Mail on Sunday. "The stress and strain has taken a terrible toll on him.

"He has lost weight and gone greyer. He looks terrible and feels terrible. He can't go on like this. Some of us have told him he has got to seek a divorce for his sake and for his children's."

Another colleague claimed: "John is in despair. He just can't understand her obsession with being on the media and acting in such a provocative manner.

"He is determined to make a success of being speaker and takes the job very seriously. He regards it as an enormous privilege. But every time he is interviewed all they want to talk about is Sally's latest stunt."
mmmmm ..... evicted and served with divorce papers - it's not a good week in prospect for Sally ..... :idc:

Josy 21-08-2011 05:39 PM

Is she not allowed to make her own decisions then?

Novo 21-08-2011 05:40 PM

Don't think she would really care :joker:

A modicum of propriety would not have gone amiss.

It seems that she does and "damn the consequences" for her family ..... :(

joeysteele 21-08-2011 05:43 PM

That would be one of the most stupid reasons for a divorce. I think that's a load of nonsense. He will not always be Speaker, he chose Sally from all the women he knew to be a lifelong partner.
I just cannot see that happening and in any event she hasn't been in any way controversial at all, ...well yet anyway.

shanereaction 21-08-2011 05:44 PM

So, he's stuck with her through her drink problem and that embarrassing picture with the bed-sheet but wants to end their marriage over a programme on the TV (on which she's kept her clothes on so far)...

Sounds a bit far fetched for me.

Mystic Mock 21-08-2011 05:46 PM

If thats true then he doesnt love her very much.

Maia 21-08-2011 05:49 PM

Bit of a silly reason for a divorce.

What consequences though? I honestly don't see how she's harming her family by being a contestant on big brother, if anything I think the children would be more affected by a divorce than by their mother appearing on tv for a fortnight.

Sally Illman attended Keble College, Oxford, dropping out after two years. The fact that Bercow did not finish her studies at Oxford became a minor controversy in 2009 when it was revealed that she had been sacked from a City public relations firm for trying to conceal this on her CV.

She was the social secretary of the Oxford University Conservative Association (OUCA) while at the University. It was subsequently reported in the Daily Mail that during her time with OUCA, she was involved in a social event for which OUCA booked strippers.

In a 2009 interview Bercow admitted to a past life of alcoholism and one night stands. She now has three children; her eldest son is autistic

On 3 February 2011 Bercow caused further controversy appearing in the London Evening Standard free newspaper wearing only a bed sheet and was quoted as saying "becoming Speaker has turned my husband into a sex symbol".

Who knows what will happen on CBB?

Remember CBB5? That didn't do much good for Goody or her family, including the boys .....

Hopefully they tell her this and she walks so there is no eviction this week :idc:

bbfan1991 21-08-2011 05:58 PM

If this is true, what a knob. Oh so his wife is not allowed to be independent and speak her mind. He has to abide by the rules of the HOP but that doesn't mean she has to.

Her VT was class:D.

It won't be in The Star which is probably the only paper they get in there!

Agreed - the combination of her VT and choice of song has given me high hopes for Dame Sally.

Totally agree with your post. If he loved her, then they should be able to work through such issues. Bet if she survived the eviction and went on to win it would be a different story then.

But even having said that, I agree with you in that I think the news article is a load of nonsense.

"He has lost weight and gone greyer."

Bitch cant lose that much weight in like 3 days :/ he needs to get a couple of strippers, order a pizza and shut the **** up.

Mail having a response dig to what Sally said when she slated them;).

Her husband has known her that long to know what she is like and he obviously loves her so would be stupid to divorce her over a TV show, but no doubt it must be slightly embarrassing when people mention it.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree with you all... In my opinion, the wife of the speaker of the House of Commons should conduct herself in an appropriate manner and unfortunately she doesn't. I though she made a fool of herself, her husband and of her marriage when she laughed at the fact that he had asked her not to do BB, but she had done it anyway.

I found her VT embarrassing: She actually came across as resentful towards her husband, almost mocking him. Divorce wouldn't surprise me to be honest, they obviously aren't that a close couple.

I have to agree, she's not being independent, just ersit!:wavey:

that would be the most silly reason for a divorce. she's allowed to make her own decisions, he isn't the boss of her.

Why should she change the way she is though because she is married to the Speaker of the House of Commons? His job is do with him not her it shouldn't really matter at all what she wants to do if he gets backlash for this then it's his own fault as he should have known that she is like this when he married her
