Towie is seen as a massive success because.....
 

It gets 1 million viewers.

But Amy is now appearing on a show that gets 1 million more viewers aka twice as much yet is seen as a failure?

People are still comparing BB's ratings to the glory days.

Remeber when we all thought BB would be getting like 1 million viewers by now?

Its doing well for C5 and im hoping its gonna stay steady at 2m now.

Thoughts?......

TOWIE is also seen as a success because it does not cost as much to produce.
Remember, Ch5 paid 200 million pounds for the rights to air this, and as a result will be expecting far more than 1 million viewers.
If we can stay at an average of 2.5m nightly, I believe Ch5 will be somewhat satisfied with that result.

Towie did win a bafta as well and it was getting near to 2m viewers at one point, plus it's on Itv 2 so ratings will be lower but yeah I agree that people shouldn't expect ratings of 4 or 5m every night for BB and an average of, say, 2m would still be pretty good

just because a show happens to get more viewers than an other, doesnt necesssarily mean its better, that isnt to say TOWIE was a good show either. it wasnt.

Its not down to it being better im talking about people saying its failing coz its only getting 2 million

Desmond said in an interview that if he gets 2m viewers a night he will be happy - at the moment it's just about safe, if it ever manages to slip under 2m though, that's when it's in trouble.

ok. 2 mills pretty good for ch.5 i reckon. definatly not failing (views on the current incarnation aside)

This series is a failure because it is terrible not because of viewing numbers.

Posting about how you do not understand the concept of a discussion forum is also getting old. I will post what I want and you telling me its getting old will not deter me from doing it whatsoever. Just because I do not like the show shouldn't make my right about posting in threads with my opinion any different.

ITV2 obviously has lower boundaries for success in terms of viewing figures than C5, but 2 million is nowhere near a failure for C5. People shouldnt expect the figures to match Channel 4's peak years.
