That pig faced bastard Goody wouldnt have pissed all over BBs reputation and credibility and likely it would still be going on Channel 4.

If that ugly fat troll Jade hadn't of went back in, Big Brother would of still been going VERY STRONGLY over on Channel 4.

The UK was becoming more and more PC then anyway, it's just a coincidence it happened around that time

BB still would have ended the time it did. If they carried on the way they were going they would have ended up with a suicide or murder live on air or something. But even without the race row they still would have attempted to tighten up the regulations because of Shahbaz threatening to kill himself the previous year

The race row didn't mean BB had to fail. Channel 4 could go back to their glory days easily as no one had a problem with any of them. They were just too scared. Channel 4 needed to say **** off to the public and just showed entertaining controversial tv as usual.
BB9 and 10 were perfectly good though. But Big Brother should have been left to rest for a couple of years and brought back by 4 better than ever.

CBB5's race row has been blamed for the end of BB more than it ever should have. I think it would have started to decline soon anyway, it was becoming more and more popular for people to hate BB. The effort from Channel4 wasn't up to scratch either, the same ideas were being re-used and the new ideas didn't provide the same level of entertainment.

If the race row had never happened...

CBB5 would be remembered for having Jade return with her family, 3 HMs walking, the battle of the tribute bands task, assault course task, Dirk flirtign with Shilpa and Cleo Rocos annoying Dirk. That's about it. Wouldn't have rated as well as CBB3 and 4

BB8 wouldn't have ejected Emily so fast but probably would have suffered some petty twists like the HWH because we all know PEJ started makign some bad decisions during BB7

There wouldn't have been a BB:CH - instead it would have been CBB6 right there and hopefully had more oomph to it

BB9 onwards wouldn't have been so PC and watered down. Still could have had some sh!te twists and fame hungry wannabes but Ch 4 would have let them argue and drink and party and it would still have been watchable until it started to dry up

I don't think it affected the celeb versions because as far as I'm aware CBB6 and 7 were the best yet. The normal versions are only as good as the contestants in it, pick better people and the series will be better! The racism thing was bad for a while, not too sure BB gets much stick anymore over it? Like I said that was just because the contestant was idiotic

Also racism and ignorance happen in this country, this show didn't promote it as a good thing but it showed that it happened and brought around more awareness of it. After all this show is classed as a reality show, it's reality that some people are racist or just plain ignorant

I think Jade was just ignorant, and a bully. I don't think she was racist. I don;t for one minute think that Jade Goody had some sort of agenda against Indian people.

Jade hated Shilpa for being a princess, not for being Indian. It was about class, not about race imo.

And Indian isn't even a race, there are many different races in India.
Gandhi was a racist,. He wanted all of the black people in India to be shipped back to Africa. Christopher Hitchens wrote about it.

I think Channel 4 had cooled on the BB thing despite that,a lot of influence could have been put to the producers of BB to take more notice of what the public were asking for.
Channel 4 seemed to just distance itself from the project with the view to dropping it in the near futrue.

I think as there would be a contract,Channel 4 were hoping something could happen to open the door for them to not renew the contract again and I think likely the race row on that CBB gave then that opening to let BB go, it certainly didn't help BBs cause.

The really bad thing is BB producers could have dealt with that and stopped the bullying/racerow in its tracks if it had warned Jade and the others sooner, they didn't and chaos ensued.
Channel 4, well they sat back and let it all happen, that says everything I think as to Channel 4s then interest really.
