Big Brother by name only now

The spin-off from Channel 5 that is on right now is just stupid and they should do the show right or not at all :(

D3vilish 25-08-2011 09:50 PM

Whatever.. Its moving on, Shame people don't seem to move on

Go watch the same repetitive ****....

Blog Rider 25-08-2011 09:52 PM

Moving on for the worst, They will realize soon when the show gets no viewers :)

fingers 25-08-2011 09:57 PM

"Moving on" FiveSpeak for "We bought a perfectly good show but don't know wtf to do with it"!

Is it? Apart from actually losing something in the live feed how exactly is it moving on? The show is the exact fucking same inside, they've just painted it over with shit production that detracts from things and adds zero additional viewers. It's a rating hit by Channel 5 standards but not by Big Brother standards. The same core fans who always watched the show still watch it, that's about 2 million of us - the same 2 million thats stuck around for BB10. Virtually no new fans or ex fans have tuned in. It's the same people watching the same show minus the live feed. We've just switched channels, that's all.

And the main series will do something nobody thought possible. Something even BB10 couldn't manage. It'll kill off it's core audience piece by piece. Sure some will always watch but for the first time heavy BB addicts are saying 'forget it, no thank you'.

Why are people using Channel 5 as an excuse? It's not hard to find. It's not hidden away locked in a chest somewhere. If people want to watch Big Brother they will. All that hype, Kerry Katona, Amy Childs, the new editing and it's the exact same audience that watched BB10.

**** You Dirty Des!!!

CharlieO 25-08-2011 10:01 PM

Indeed. Nothing that defined the show is present anymore. It's a shame and its not 'fresh' at all. All it has done was got rid of everything unique about the whole programme.

Zippy 25-08-2011 10:08 PM

Its not as removed from the original concept as the US version. And this is the celeb version which has never been like the normal run. It's a novelty show.

echo cafe 25-08-2011 10:09 PM

all the people who ever thought BB was a pile of **** are now right. it is.

brian3 25-08-2011 10:10 PM

every year people complain about it being rubbish, and not what it used to be. That is one thing that has stayed the same

The theme of this episode was 'Darryn has a heart' and everything seemed contrived to fit around it. The DR commentary they do during a task now is simply taken from the American Big Brother, if they just want to copy them why don't they just take their whole format or even just show their show instead?

Well if the americans do a celebrity BB they probably have more chance of getting well known celebs - on both sides of the Atlantic!

No, they tried to do a celebrity edition for BB7 but it had to become an All-Stars season instead because not enough celebrities were able to commit for the duration of the series.

Might as well just take it for what it is. If you don't like it don't watch. It's a shame it's gone the way it has but there you go, and we're still yet to see what the normal one is like.

The spin off, bbbots is either really good or only fair,it was chronic on Sunday taken up with that daft quiz though, the only good thing about Sundays show was Ben Duncan on it.

I agree this has to get better and concentrate on more discussion around the highlights programmes and also more exclusive clips from the house too.

Had you posted this on Sunday I would agree. But rewatch tonights episode. Apart from the coming up and the opening 5 seconds the show was right back to the same show it always has been. And you know what? Thank God! At least it feels like BB now even if they haven't fixed what needed to be fixed rather than trying what didn't.

Blog Rider 26-08-2011 09:56 AM

When the show has let me down I tuned out and not bothered coming back, I was finding it hard to watch last Sunday :)

I don't agree, see my last post. Those stupid profile images in between scenes are damn annoying too.
