Anyone else notice it was back to semi normal tonight?
The starting music was about 5 seconds, then they just let it play out. The music for the task was only while they were getting dressed. And Marcus was back just stating facts. Even Big Brother seemed back to normal.
Slowly but surely over the last week we have seen the new editing being faded out. Seems like they heard the reaction, saw that they weren't getting any new viewers and returned the editing and Marcus to semi normality. Thanks C5 this is WAY more like it. |
It seems like each episode the editing has been getting better and better. I think tonight's episode was perfect in terms of editing.

i think they just had to find the right ballance! and now there just about getting it right :P and tbh he names dont bother me! i guess it helps the casual veiwers know who the hm are lmaoo
|
Agreed. The name tags never bothered me. It was the montages and general "glam" attitude and look.
|
The name tags are basically them admitting the housemates aren't really celebrities.
|
Name tags are good, IMO, for the first few days to get to know these people.
As an American, I didn't recognize ANY of the UK celebs (OK, besides the Jedward evil twins), and never watched Baywatch to know who Pamela is. Tara -- a well-known trainwreck in the US -- was the only one I knew. :p Dump the wakeup montage, and we'll be good. |
Yes, glad it has tamed out a bit.
|
I think the editting has been great past 3 days now :D
|
Still the stupid profile images in continuity. The DR clips are now so tedious, no longer giving insights into HMs they are just used to narrate the episode (like they are prompted from a script because of how short the clips are and the purpose of them now).
|
I liked it from the start but I do think it is improving each time too and that's no bad thing, the viewing figures are also really good so if they would just climb down on more footage 'live' or otherwise then Channel 5 have a sure fire hit for many years likely.
|
I'm a bit bothered that so much of it has a possibly scripted quality about it, or just a "wtf just happened" quality...im thinking of that surreal wedding thing, and then Bobby inexpicably turning into a mental patient...it just seems a bit questionable to me.
But i suppose its just the same as things like when Halfwit did that speech to Noirin in BB10, maybe these moments do actually happen........ I agree with some that the constant cheesy dance music over the top of it is a HORRIFIC error, but then even C4 were guilty of errors from time to time (those car-crash two person eviction interviews in BB10 for one thing.) |
They shouldn't be improving it as they go along. Audiences are dwindling, making changes now just makes it look like they didn't have faith in what they did in the first place. The only change they can make now to save it is to bring back live feed. I never watched live feed but the lack of it has had a detrimental effect on the show and on the forum. This place shouldn't be this quiet a week into Big Brother, especially when we thought we'd lost it forever.
It's been on a week and already I'm thinking, can I be arsed to watch it tonight? That shouldn't happen... |
I didn't even notice any of the name-tags or music last night.

Sadly, TV ratings for BBUSA keep getting better each year, giving producers license to ruin the show further. BBUK has been an escape from the BBUSA mess. If BBUK follows the BBUSA model, this show is done. |
