Does who you like/don't like in the house.....

.... change your opinion of who you like/don't like on with on the forum?

I've seen so many people turn on another due to whether they like or hate different HM's. It's crackers!!!!

joeysteele 29-08-2011 12:03 AM

No,I wouldn't like to think I do that, some people do annoy me so I may get more defensive as to the celebs or housemates on BB.

In debates it can get heated and that's a good thing, I only get annoyed when some people are selective in their criticisms and distort facts.
I try to keep to facts, but for as long as people speak out against people I like or come to really like, I will always come back and defend the people I like.

I find though, if I disagree strongly with someone on one thread as to something or someone, I may debate more strongly against them on that thread but on another where I agree with them would support them 100%

We all have off days,no one is perfect, I had one the other day, I hope though I am overall seen to be and that I succeed in being as fair as is possible.

Josy 29-08-2011 12:07 AM

No, but I have noticed a big change in some members since BB started and I think some people take it a bit too serious when it comes to defending who they support in the house.

billy123 29-08-2011 12:10 AM

No i hate you all equally.

joeysteele 29-08-2011 12:12 AM

It's like that even in families though, I have a Brother who adores Cheryl Cole for instance, I for personal reasons cannot stand the woman, he and I near fall out all the time over her once we discuss her,but then we get onto other things and it's soon forgotten.(until the next time).

We do forge attachments to celebrities, it is daft to fall out over them but if you really like someone you will defend them against all, that's part of human nature I guess.

I haven't noticed it yet.

Jordan. 29-08-2011 12:50 AM

No, its all in good fun for me whilst BB is on. Back to normal when its off-season.

Locke. 29-08-2011 12:56 AM

Depends who it is, if it is someone I didn't really like supporting a housemate I hate it just makes me dislike the forum member more, yes.

CharlieO 29-08-2011 12:58 AM

No but I know others do.

lostalex 29-08-2011 01:02 AM

Really though, people's choices in favourites does say a lot about them as a person, i think.

King Gizzard 29-08-2011 01:06 AM

This is the worst thing about on-season

Vicky. 29-08-2011 01:11 AM

Not who they support, no. I have gone off people in the past though purely because of their posts ABOUT who they support/dislike though. It majorly pisses me off when people get overly defensive/agressive and basically spam the same thing all over :/

The main one that comes to mind was a guy who detested freddie. And made about 20 threads a day describing why. And went into EVERY thread to say why. But it was basically justa copy and paste job over and over. It gets so ****ing tedious. I liked him when I joined... I hated him about 6 weeks into the series.(tbf though...it was only about a week that i liked him for, joined pretty much halfway through bb10 xD)

reece(: 29-08-2011 02:07 AM

No but when people go over the top with it and start spamming all this and that it can make me feel that way

This pretty much ^

Saph 29-08-2011 09:22 AM

Not the members but I dont like it when people try and shuv their favourates down your throat..

joeysteele 29-08-2011 10:15 AM

I find near everyone on here really good, I obviously don't agree with everyone or all they say, as I said above though, you can strongly disagree with someone on one topic/person but totally agree with them on another thread as to another topic or person.

What is unpleasant in my view though and it is something I would have to react to, is if people not only insult or put down say a celebrity or housemate, or even then in serious debate maybe, open up to generalise a nasty comment, put down or something that may be deemed insulting as to the people who do like the celebrity or housemate by near personalising it.

Because, as members on here who all have a massive diversity of likes and dislikes, once you open up the insults or slurs to the fans of the singers/celebrities/housemates or even those collectively with a view on something that you disagree with then you open up to indirectly insulting members too. I didn't expect that when I joined. It rarely happens too I have to add.

I do hope I can say I have never insulted indirectly or otherwise, advertently or inadvertently any other members for their likes and dislikes.

Maia 29-08-2011 10:48 AM

Nope doesn't change a thing for me, I still see everyone as I saw them before regardless of who they like/dislike. I always get the feeling my opinions turn others against me though

Absolutely, what annoys me are the people who imply that you're a certain type of person if you like a HM they don't. No you're not, it just means you have different taste to them, big deal?
