Celebrity Big Brother where the actual Celebs are vistors
Whats up with this? They manage to get plenty of actual famous people to go in...for 5 minuets, mabye 10.
That and lack of numbers, and Bobby types, really does make you think that a combination of the uncertaintly over the Channel change and the Big Brother infamy of runing careers, or worse...not effecting them at all, has us with 3 mabye 4 actual Celebrities and a hord who are happy to "just pop in." |
Well the Billionaire guy has no reason to do it for more than an hour because he is already a billionaire. Why he bothered going in for a task I don't know.
And the chef has probably got a busy schedule, and doesn't want to risk his career by making a fool of himself on Big Brother |
I'd imagine the ones with cash (Mohammed Al Fayed for example) have something to promote. Probs a book, and Marco I believe may have a new show out soon
The rest just want screen time and money |
My point wasn't that the visitors should be HMs. My point is that even with a barely famous model in there they could only get 11 people with a few drop out replacements.

Sorry, tired. Long weekend. Should probably sleep for a bit

BB is never gonna have a house full of A Listers even if I do think Tara is a coup this year and Vinnie was last year. The problems are the celebs' schedules, exposing themselves and their daily habbits (e/g/ going to the toilet, what they look like first thing in the morning) and how much they want/need the publicity and the cash. BB:CH actually had some decent celebs but that was because they were only doing it for 1 day each.
I'd rather BB stop putting in guests because the concept of BB is strictly no communication with the outside world and with the money they would have spent hiring guests they could hopefully bag a few bigger, likelier names as actual HMs but unfortunately I think this is what BB will continue to do. CBB4 had Jimmy Saville, CBB5 had Jade's grandparents as guests, CBB6 had a number of guests, BB9 had Mo's brother and Nichole before she actually became a HM, BB10 had a few (like 'the Queen'), as did BB11 (army guy, Andrew Stone, the whole 'Ignore the Obvious' task, their 'perfect day') and UBB was filled with them. Sadly I think it's gonna stay this way because it's easier and cheaper to knab a guest to provide a quick headline and self-cotained story for the HL show edit |
They did only sign the deal for BB in April, that didn't give people, who may have liked to go in the house, a lot of time to re-schedule all their commitments, between then and August.
I do feel a lot of celebrities approached this year would have been unable to re-schedule so I am hoping for a good set of celebrities next year. I actually think Channel 5 did well in the time from signing the deal in April finally, to get C/BB up and running in August anyway. |
