Jedward get £20 a week of parents

and after seeing them for a few weeks i can see why they dont let them have any of the reported 6 million earnings

they would probably spend it all on magic beans :joker:

Stu 07-09-2011 09:27 PM

I imagine they'd try and buy some clouds or something.

mymidas 07-09-2011 09:48 PM

Made up nonsense they are 19 and their parents have no say in anything they do with their money.

Beso 07-09-2011 09:51 PM

They aint as dumb as you think, they will be in showbizz for years and years, both in front and behind the scenes.

Shasown 07-09-2011 10:04 PM

Cant see anything wrong with them getting only 20 quid a week

You can buy thousands and thousands of smarties for 20 pound a week.

snookered 07-09-2011 10:17 PM

Maybe I shouldn't grumble about my £45.

Bojangles 07-09-2011 11:24 PM

£20 seems to go a long way with a different outfit morning noon and night, see the amount of ties they went in with.Their shoes or boots look custom made also.
I wish I could make £20 stretch that far.

joeysteele 07-09-2011 11:27 PM

They are allowed to get the clothes they need for their stage shows, some they get from sponsors too, the £20 is a nominal allowance each week.

Much like parents buying their children clothing and food etc but giving them pocket money too. Except the clothes for Jedward the act comes out of their earnings too.

Bojangles 07-09-2011 11:29 PM

Well you can buy a lot of sweets with £20.

Didn't think this was actually true  Jesus, they've getting screwed :joker:

Joelle. 08-09-2011 12:12 AM

Lucky bastards. I get £20 a month.

King Gizzard 08-09-2011 12:14 AM

Aren't they 18 though?

InOne 08-09-2011 12:14 AM

19 lol

King Gizzard 08-09-2011 12:15 AM

Well then if I was then I'd be asking for my money :idc:

Zippy 08-09-2011 12:20 AM

They're adults with their own bank accounts and own access to their own money.

Please stop with all this ludicrous nonsense that just defies any sense. You seriously think two grown men work for 2 years and still have to rely on mummy for pocket money...from their own earnings? Jesus some people will believe any old crap.

InOne 08-09-2011 12:21 AM

Maybe they do have something wrong with them then if they're parents won't let them have it (I don't mean it in a bad way but you get me)

This would be true, but it's Jedward we're talking about, does "grown men" really apply to them? lol

Joelle. 08-09-2011 12:23 AM

I dont think they can be trusted to spend money wisely.

Legally absolutely. The OP seems to be assuming theyre like 10 yr old child stars.

I don't see how anybody has any right to take control of all their earnings in the way suggested.

CaudleHalbard 08-09-2011 12:32 AM

Money is meaningless to Jedward, anyway! The money can be set up to go into their bank account or, more likely, put straight into trust with thieir parents as trustees

Don't forget Jedward started all this when they were 17, and below the age of majority so a trust may have been arranged at that stage.

Even these days, it is not uncommon for trusts to block any money going direct to people until they are 25. (Trust me, I used to work on that sort of stuff! ;))

InOne 08-09-2011 12:34 AM

Still not exactly normal though is it

Zippy 08-09-2011 12:34 AM

It's just BS to further the whole notion of them being naughty little boys. As opposed to backwards, retarded adults.

Sophiee 08-09-2011 12:42 AM

don't they have enough already?.

CaudleHalbard 08-09-2011 12:51 AM

You cannot on the one hand say that Jedward have the minds of 9-year olds and behave accordingly and then say they will be standing up for their legal rights and demanding all the money is paid to them!

They will - without a doubt - be perfectly happy to have £20 (or whatever the figure is) pocket money given to them. They don't need anything more - probably not even £20. Why would they?

Anything they want they only have to ask and it is bought for them. Whatever arrangement is in place would normally specify the trustees could not refuse any reasonable request. But it certainly keeps them away from the temptations of booze and drugs doesn't it? ;)

joeysteele 08-09-2011 12:53 AM

Their Father oversees the trustees in protecting their wealth and likely,(I don't know this for certain),they will be making sound investments for their future with large chunks of it.
