Sorry to raise such a subject but I am confused. She 'dances' for men who then 'give her money'.

She's offered to do a naughty thing with a man's wotsit, and it looks like she's lining up Aden as a bed partner.

Now that I don't have issue with.

I do have issue in that she alleges that she loathes the very people upon whom she relies for her very income.

Now that....to me, is the sign of a very disturbed mind.

Does she get involved with the 'do gooder' side to ease her own conscience - I definately think so.

I think if it was her own conscience she wouldn't have a need to tell others about her good deeds. So it must be for others I guess, so they have a better opinion of her.

And I feel she's very calculating.

Oh...it's her conscience. She's trying to convince herself that what she is doing is okay........and mitigating it with the 'good charity work'. As well as, as you say: hoping others will see the 'good' side and what she clearly feels is a 'less worthy' side.
