EastEnders axe Heather Trott!

EastEnders star Cheryl Fergison is to leave the soap next year, it has been announced.

The actress's character Heather Trott will bow out from the BBC drama "in dramatic circumstances" in early 2012, The Mirror reports.

An EastEnders spokesperson told the newspaper: "We can confirm Cheryl Fergison will be leaving EastEnders when her contract comes to its natural conclusion next year."

It is currently unclear whether Heather will be killed off in her exit storyline or if the door will be left open for the future. However, EastEnders sources have promised a "fitting end" for the character.

"Heather's character has been hugely popular over the years, but the decision has been taken to cut her out of the show before viewers tire of her," one insider told the tabloid.

"Cheryl will leave when her contract comes to an end, but it's set to be a dramatic exit which will see the character go out with a real bang."

Heather was initially introduced to EastEnders in June 2007 as a guest, but she was later upgraded to a Walford regular.

Memorable moments for the character include her double act with Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) and the 'Who's The Daddy?' mystery surrounding her 2009 pregnancy.

I've always liked Heather so a bit gutted, she's one of a few characters in EE who are actually nice.

I hope Linda Henry who plays the fab Shirley isn't the next to go:(.

They ruined the character when they revealed Darren was the father of her baby.

Ramsay 17-09-2011 12:24 AM

Kill her!

Kerry 17-09-2011 12:24 AM

Rose's son should come back for her, got a feeling Heather's hideous mother might be involved in her exit.

Yeah Rose's son is who I thought. He's been brought in for a reason I'm sure of it....... *muses*

Jords 17-09-2011 12:59 AM

Noooooooo shes 1 of EE's best light-hearted characters!

Jordan. 17-09-2011 01:02 AM

She's gonna get preggars again and win the lottery

bbfan1991 17-09-2011 01:06 AM

It would be hilarious if George Michael actually arrived in the Square for her exit, like when Status Quo came to Weatherfield for Candice's exit:D.

bbfan1991 17-09-2011 01:36 AM

I think her or Shirley ever fit in to EE TBH. I won't lose any sleep if both of them leave. I just hope they're taking that laughable doctor with them.

InOne 17-09-2011 01:59 AM

Heather is pretty annoying and Darren being her sons father is just ridiculous

I agree. He wouldn't have the strength to move the physical obstacles and she would have smothered him.

Quite an annoying character but I think I'll miss her. I also fear Linda Henry may leave over this, the two are close in real life.

This is great news!! I CANNOT stand Heather, never have. Ridiculous & pointless character & not in the least bit funny. I am so happy! :elephant:

She'll probably ride off into the sun set in the back of an Ice Cream Van then.

Just imagine it! Rofl.

George Michael kills Heather Trott!!!!!

Anyone reckon she'll get a Julia's Theme?

Good Old Darren should of got one - seeing as he's been there since 2000 and ******ing 4. :idc:

Redway 01-10-2011 04:06 PM

Well, where does it say she's been axed?

Anyway, not sure I care. I - somewhat - liked Heather but she served no purpose, really. I'd rather she wasn't leaving but I'm not too fussed.

If Bryan Kirkwood's going to execute her departure (which I really hope not), trust him to.
