Start a conversation or wait to be included in a conversation?

Organise something to do with others or wait until you get invited to something?

So basically would you say you had social initiative?

Depends really.

I will start conversations with people I have met before, even if they arent 'friends'

I would not start a conversation with a total stranger unless I was drunk or had some kind of indication that they wanted to talk to me.

I dont organise anything really, besides, say when my shift finishes, saying does everyone wanna come back to mine and get pissed or whatever.

Start a conversation and Organise!

No, I am very much socially nervous in real life.

I never speak really unless spoken to because I am too terrified and I hardly ever organise anything because I don't want to burden anyone. I feel that if I ask someone they will be hesitant to say no (as i would in that situation) and I'd hate to impose myself on people so I wait to be invited and when I don't get one I totally understand.

Its probably why I don't have many friends and no one really likes me here because I am not vocal enough or present enough.

That's really interesting Charlie because your perception of yourself is totally different from mine, you come across, to me, as someone who doesn't follow the crowd, will state your own opinions, but gets on well with people (on here). I have also noticed you put yourself down, but in a casual or jokey way, so it isn't ragingly obvious. So yes, I can see your lack of confidence. looking a little bit deeper. Hope you are feeling better about things than you have been lately :) Keep smiling.

I don't follow the crowd and I do state my own opinions but I do not get along with many people. Thats the trouble, my social anxiety holds me back so much.

Very much depends on the circumstances and the people. That is a huge determining factor in everything I do in life.

When I attend social things for work, I can do the small-talk thing and I'm quite good at it for a short time, but I don't like it. Given the choice I'd rather say nothing unless sometime talks to me. I'm not very gregarious. I have never started a thread, for instance, but I'm happy to chip in.

I'm definitely the kind of person who starts a conversation and without a shadow of a doubt I'm also the one who organises my weekend (and my friends' too :laugh: ).

On saturday morning when our version of "New Yorker" arrives, I get all excited to highlight the films and plays that have premiered on that week, international Djs that are gonna be in town for the weekend, new clubs, bars etc then I call everybody and we decide what we're gonna do. :laugh:

I live in very cosmopolitan area so I dont like miss anything exciting that's going on. :laugh:
