in a 1 v 1 eviction save or evict are the same

in a vote to evict

rebeckah fans will vote to evict heaven
rebeckah haters will vote to evict rebeckah
heaven fans will vote to evict rebeckah
heaven haters will vote to evict heaven

in a vote to save

rebeckah fans will vote to save rebeckah
rebeckah haters will vote to save heaven
heaven fans will vote to save heaven
heaven haters will vote to save rebeckah

group 1 = rebeckah fans + heaven haters
group 2 = heaven fans + rebeckah haters

whichever group is largest and most passionate will decide outcome of the eviction

whether it is save or evict is irrelevant

Mystic Mock 20-09-2011 12:53 AM

I still think people would be more passionate on evicting Rebeckah instead of having to save Heaven.

Although dont give up Heaven fans and Rebeckah haters,we will get her soon enough.

Disagree though. Many people, no matter how much they don't like Rebecca, aren't gonna bother paying to save Heaven who they probably don't like much either.

Chuck 20-09-2011 01:04 AM

It is obviously not irrelevant.

Darryn would have never stayed over Pamela had it been a vote to evict and the reason is very simple.

Vote to evict: the most unpopular housemate will be evicted
Vote to save: the least popular housemate will be evicted.

The difference is, the most hated housemate can be more popular than a housemate who isnt hated but also doesn't cause a reaction on people enough to make them bother to pick up the phone and vote.

I don't think they are the same. I think that more people would be inclined to vote to evict a HM than to save. Just look at the Darryn and Pamela eviction. In a vote to evict, Darryn would have been evicted.

If we had to vote to save in previous years, a lot of evictions would have gone differently including the 1 vs 1s.

if it had been vote to evict

the majority of people who voted to save darryn would have voted to evict pamela
the majority of people who voted to save pamela would have voted to evict darryn

the fans of darryn + haters of pamela vs the haters of darryn + fans of pamela

the groups in bold are the deciding factors

only stupid people would not bother voting in the alternative voting process

and i don't think the majority of BB viewers are stupid

Sophiee 20-09-2011 01:52 AM

it's not the same at all. in a vote to evict, the most hated housemate will be evicted. in a vote to save, the least popular housemate will be evicted.

No, because many people who really hated, despised and couldn't stand Darryn didn't necessarily love Pamela enough to give her a vote and vice-versa.

That's the key word in a vote to save, you're showing your support to a certain housemate, not necessarily your hatred to another.
