GCSE Work Chucked In The Bin...
Basically I finished school back in July and went to collect my textiles work today with my friend (who also did textiles). We went to our old classroom and asked the teacher where our work was to collect and she said it was in the outside shelter (which is just a shelter outside where the bins are kept) and we thought this was abit odd so anyway we went outside and found out that all the textiles GCSE work from the past 3 years had all been chucked in the bins and gotten all damp and ruined
So we went back in the class to ask the teacher why it was out there and she said, "all work that got less than a B was chucked away because it gives the school a bad name" I was just like .....:nono: called her a bitch and walked out, and made a complaint to the higher staff and they just said, "if your teacher doesnt see your work as worthy of keeping, then we've no reason to keep it" I was in complete shock :s I know its not very intresting but just wondered what anyone else thought about this? Was it wrong of them or not really? :/ |
WTF, that's stupid in my opinion. You put effort into that work, and they think it's acceptable just throw it away? I understand when people like don't claim it they say they'll throw it in the bin, but if that was their reason for it then that's really bad.

I would have put her in the bin, bitch.
|
You should of grabbed a bin and threw it at her.
What a bastard. |
Lmao!
All my art work got put in the bin too but that was because I decided not to go back for it. |

You can't expect a school/college/university to keep all the work for people to come and collect it. They're obviously going to think you don't want it and will discard it. |

That is so out of order, I would so complain if that happened to me. Fair enough if the student did not bother with classwork at all and got something like an F but I can imagine that you are a hardworking student and I would be devistanted if all my hardwork was binned before I got a chance. I got a D at Graphics art and I would be mad if my work was thrown away. I have to collect my work sometime in November TBC.

LOL textiles is a joke subject anyway. If you got crap grades then clearly your work wasn't very good, why would they keep a piece of work for months just because you want them to.
I agree with Marc and the beautiful Ninastar. |
I got a B in Graphics and i couldn't care less about my work :joker:

Couldn't be bothered going back for any of my stuff it was all ****e anyway

You went back today? Yet you finished in July?
Welcome to the real world. Good job they didnt charge you for storing your work as well. You complain about some work made in school time, with materials that was probably provided by the school either free or at great discount. You got a qualification from it what more do you want? |

Do you want them to wipe when you have been to the toilet too? To be quite frank I think you should go back and see the teacher and apologise for calling her a bitch. She is probably just following school policy, seeing as a more senior teacher told you that as well. |
No, I don't think it was wrong of them. How long were you expecting them to keep your work, I wonder? If it had meant that much to you surely you'd have collected it before now. I remember collecting what I wanted to keep at the end of term knowing that it'd be disposed of otherwise.
So... your teacher has a degree and a post-grad teaching qualification, you didn't manage a 'B' in your textiles GCSE after three years, and you call her a bitch for chucking your work. It's a wonder teachers turn up at all. Can't imagine someone calling me a bitch at work and feeling like they were justified. You've got a massive shock coming when you get a job. |

Was it her fault that your stuff went out to the bin before you went to collect it? |
Our GCSE art teacher did that, threw all but 3 people's away (those 3 were being used for the walls). Everyone went ballistic because it's something to keep and be proud of but they don't see it that way do they.
I made a 4 ft Native American warrior from cardboard, took me weeks... it was used as SCRAP card! Bitchezzzzzzz. |
