Why do cats think they are giving us a present when they bring this into our homes.

I never understand the logic.

Oh... a shrew ... need to have a look to see what one looks like.

Aimee....hang on *inspects feet* it's got small feet, but very long claws for a wee baby 'whatever'.

Where the hell are the wildlife experts when you need 'em. Huh !!:conf:

:suspect: the cat's just tamed it

I don't mind them so much when they're dead, it's when they're alive that's the problem, once had a Rat living in our house for a few days and a nest of mice grew behind our washing machine

Currently checking online recipies. Failing to find any. In lieu of this, I am seeking out a local taxidermist - so avoiding offending said cat.

It's a shrew. I see them all the time. I knew it wasn't a mole instantly as I have researched Moles loads due to the game.

Ammi 04-10-2011 02:36 PM

Just pop it in the cupboard and get it out everytime your cat comes in......

First I've seen one - it's usually mice or birds. god, shows how little I'm aware of what's around my own bliddy garden as far as wildlife is concerned.

*makes mental note to go back to school at some point*

She lost interest in it very quickly unfortunately. Bliddy furry weans, such a limited attention span these days. Pfft. :D

I heard the 'different type of mieow' from her and instantly thought.... "Aye aye, she's got a mouse or something"...... non- cat owners will think I'm crackers, but there is a distinctly different type of 'mieow' when they've brought something like that home ....... it's hard to describe but it's most definately very recognisable from the friendly / angry / territorial / hungry noise they make.

*secondary note to self: book in for next therapy session*

I kinda thought the same thing tbh.

I know it's instinct for the furry one but it's still not the most pleasant.

She had a little bird the other day, but I managed to get her out of the living room and got the little guy to safety. Still finding some of it's feathers here and there (she brought it via the upstairs bedroom window, downstairs).
