First Week Theme Revealed

Quote:

The theme of the first X Factor Live Show 2011 is to be UK v US back catalogue .

Matt Cardle, last years winner will be back to perform his new single ‘Run For Your Life’.
Cee Lo Green will also be performing his latest track ‘Cry Baby’.
:hmph:

Nice and broad, I hate the really specific themes.

This. They can basically do anything they want with this one.

Tom 06-10-2011 02:34 PM

So "sing whatever you want except Europop"

I like broad themes, hate it when they restrict it to one artist or genre

Maia 06-10-2011 02:45 PM

Shame they're still doing the themed weeks. Although yeah, UK vs US has a wide range of songs to choose from.

Mystic Mock 06-10-2011 02:47 PM

Its a weird theme,I will wait and see how it works out first.

Smithy 06-10-2011 02:48 PM

They've done it before, its just American songs or British songs so just any random old song like the previous stages

Edited the title.

FAO Jordan: Stop taking grammar classes from Michael. :nono:

Maia 06-10-2011 03:00 PM

Oh shame on you Jordan :bored:

Callum 06-10-2011 03:51 PM

Very broad theme which is good. Not fussed on either on the special guests though, thought they would get a big name for the first results show.

Jords 06-10-2011 03:54 PM

Sounds good

Too broad... I love specific themes that makes the contestants actually have to think a little bit... it was awful how Cher or anybody else wasn't challenged for that matter last year.

First show always has crap guests because its usually the one where they invite last year winnter back. 2009 had Robbie Williams and 2010 had Usher doing a medley that he did on BGT a few weeks before

Roy Mars III 06-10-2011 06:50 PM

Cee Lo Green :amazed:

Locke. 06-10-2011 07:00 PM

Hopefully it is like how it used to be and one of the artists that perform have spent time with the contestants in the week

I miss this, especially when the contestants react when they come into the room.

Another thick moment of mine but..... eh? UK v US? What's that mean?

The 'back catalogue' is part of it too I meant to edit the OP. Still not really sure what it means though. I'm going to guess older songs from current artists? :suspect:

I see what you mean about the 'V' part though, could be part of the twist?

Jordan. 07-10-2011 04:02 AM

Or a medley...

I thought the v was versus. Hence why I don't get it

Unless they sing against ...... American X Factor? Or their songs?

Oh I dunno. It just seems like anything could be used if it was UK or US songs though
