Black Eyed Peas To Announce Split (hopefully)
 

The Black Eyed Peas are preparing to announce that they have split, reports have suggested.

The group will allegedly release a statement to their fans later this week after they pulled out of their headline slot for this weekend's Michael Jackson tribute concert in Cardiff, Wales.

Despite confirming their indefinite hiatus in July, the four-piece were confirmed to play the Jackson gig just last month, as well as performing a free concert in New York City for charity last week.

A source told The Mirror: "Pulling out of this weekend's gig is the final curtain call for them - especially as they're all such huge Jacko fans.

"Things have been taking a turn for the worse over the past few months but this signals the end."

Band member will.i.am recently denied claims that the group were about to split after Kanye West said, "rest in peace to the Black Eyed Peas. You're gonna be missed" during a concert in the US.

Since their mainstream breakthrough album Elephunk in 2003, the Black Eyed Peas - which also include Fergie, Taboo and Aple.de.ap - have sold over 56 million records worldwide.

I imagine their split to be something along the lines of Gretchen Wieners snapping in Mean Girls; but with Taboo and apl.de.ap being the ones who snap. Good riddance!

Absolute disgraces to music they are. Will be very glad to see the back of them.

Their first two albums were good but they went downhill after that, if they have split I'll be pleased.

Elephunk and Monkey Business were the only good albums

I swear I read a few months back they were claiming their next album would be very 'different' :(

Elephunk is a brilliant album and the majority of Monkey Business was good too. But it went downhill from The END (other than Meet Me Halfway). I do like most of their later songs but in a completely disposable way and am not sad at all if they split. I hate Will.I.Am and he thinks he's much bigger than he actually is. He'll fail without BEP and his UK presence will fade now Cheryl Cole is fading and he can't latch on to her for a bit of PR. Fergie is the one that is bigger and better than the band.

Maybe they'll take a good few year break, but instead of releasing another Boom Boom Pow we get a Monkey Business-style song.

Oh those were the ones I meant. :laugh: I haven't listened to the albums where it's just the three guys.

They are not splitting up, Will confirmed it as it's yet another rumour of many this year, their just taking a break.
