some reports are suggesting
he was captured in Sirte,
others saying its just both legs,
where bullets did insert.
they reckon Sirte is safe,
its been liberated,

it simply means,

There was a lot of hope that at least attempts to get at some knowledge of the Lockerbie incident and also the embassy incident could be got from him. That may never have been the case but now we will never know.
Since they had him alive,they should have made sure he stayed alive for that purpose and others.

I am glad he's gone but I was uncomfortable watching those scenes I have to admit.

You get back what you give out. Before anyone sheds any tears over Gaddafi, I suggest they acquaint themselves with the torture, imprisonment without trial, murder, rape and other equally sadistic entertainments that he and his followers (particularly his sons) carried out over decades. I agree he should have been tried in a court, but when you've lived under a tyrant like him it must be hard to hold back.

Despite how uncomfortable it was for me watching the scenes on TV of his capture and death, there is not a single word I could disagree with in all you have said above in your post Livia.

He got off lightly. He should've been hung, drawn & quartered and then thrown in a pit to rot

He caused a lot of fear and pain on people, so he met quite an easy end imo that was over fairly quickly.
