What was the point in having teams for the rowing task?

Yesterday when it was announced that they would be in teams of 4...and 4 VTs would be shown, I just assumed that the losing team would have their VTs shown. But this didnt happen. It was down to the individual who won to pick which VTs got shown

So why have teams in the first place? :conf:

Suze 23-10-2011 08:24 PM

It was probably meant to happen, but the wrong team won, think Jem was meant to win, they didn't count on Alex. Jem wins and Aaron's team get their Vt's shown. Alex's team won, then Uh Oh :o change of plan from BB. I think BB have had to manouvre a lot of Uh Oh :o change of plans this series.

BB aren't doing very well when it comes to thinking things through.

It does seem that way doesnt it...

Its things like this that MAKE people paranoid about the tasks etc tbh :/

Thank you Vicky, I have posted a similar thought elsewhere, there was no point to teams, and we still await Alex's individual prize...also they edited out Jay refusing to sit on the bench..when he got eliminated, surely the eliminated team members should have stayed to urge the remaining rowers on their team on

It didn't suit BB that Alex's team won. so they had to revert to Plan B - so I'm guessing.

Oh she did pick 4. Just the monkeys who run the twitter feed forgot to mention harrys

I was literally going to post this exact thread just now haha.

Yeah, made no sense what-so-ever. But tbh I quite enjoy watching all these little cheats BB are doing crash and burn :idc:

Another task where the production crew misjudged the outcome and so re-hashed the task to fit a preferable outcome. If Aaron had won it would have been a crap prize.

MTVN 24-10-2011 10:15 AM

Actually someone pointed out in the other thread that on Facebook where they first explained the task it did say that the winner would choose who's VTs to be shown, that was always the case, I suppose they were in teams to try and resemble the Oxford/Cambridge race and give it a competitive edge

Yeah I know.

Having no team prize though..was hardly going to make the 'teams' competitive

Yeah, i don't think there was anything much to it. 8 HMs left, so we'll divide em into two teams of 4, and hope they get a bit of team rivalry going, rather than have em all lined up competing against each other.

I don't think so actually. I read before the task was won that the winning individual would choose who would get their VT shown.

Although I have to question why they were split into two teams in the first place. The only thing I can think is to make them believe it wasn't an individual task...not sure.

Jamsey 24-10-2011 03:32 PM

But there were things said like,

"I'll let you win if we are the last two" ~ Aaron to Alex.

Why would he say this unless it was a team task.

I was just saying that to Alex above me who'd said they "rehashed the task to fit a preferable outcome", and with the teams thing I suppose they could just have had them all just doing it individually but it brought an extra element to the task even if it was a bit pointless
