Brookes, who was sent home by the judges in tonight's show, performed Cher's 'If I Could Turn Back Time' on last night's programme despite admitting that she was uncomfortable with the track.

Speaking on The Xtra Factor this evening, Brookes admitted that she thinks the songs chosen by her mentor Louis Walsh were unsuitable.

"I expected [my elimination] from last night's performance," she said. "I've got a lot more to give. I was given the wrong songs - I begged him, I cried. I didn't want to sing Cher."

Reminding viewers that she sang a Bruno Mars track at Boot Camp, she continued: "I'm current. I'm 30 years old, I'm not 70, so I was never given the right song choices. That I'm gutted about, but this is the best show, the biggest show. What a platform - what a stepping stone."

Brookes added that she is "very annoyed" about the song choice, though she "did what [she] could with it".

She also revealed that she would love to join the Loose Women panel or appear in the musical Blood Brothers and admitted that she will miss her fellow contestant Johnny Robinson, urging viewers to make him Christmas number one.

"And will someone make sure Janet Devlin and all the girls are getting their vitamins and someone's washing their clothes?" she said. "Because I worry about the girls."

So do you agree with Sami and think that a bad song choice was her downfall or do you think she would have left regardless of song choice?

She was just a typical over 25 Diva, you get one every year and they are boring. She was always going to be cannon fodder.

She just wasnt unique and interesting enough to get the votes.

I like her and thought she was good but I wouldnt pick up my phone for her (not that I vote anyway but yah)

I thought she did Cher's song well but expected her to be in the bottom 2 this week. There are so many singers like Sami unfortunately.

She was put across as 'the voice' when her voice wasn't even that impressive. Kitty has a much bigger voice.

She was just awful, 90% of Leonas songs were old and she still won

Maybe if she had some sailors as dancers it might of got her votes.

I think Sami turned her song into the wrong choice after she sung it, her performance was fine, but then she went on about it being a bad song choice and begged for votes. It's her fault she's out.

Yep a bad workman blames his tools. Not a very graceful exit trying to blame Louis. Rather felt sorry for the diminutive Louis scurrying after the huge Sami after the vote off. Wouldn't have wanted to be in his shoes.

I can understand why she's upset, If she didn't like the song, told Louis this and then gets picked on by the judges because of it. I think contestants should have the choice to change a song if they hate it that much.

Having said that I doubt she'd have gotten much further anyway but it must feel terrible to go out after singing a song you begged your mentor to change :(

I think its just because she was a bit irritating and didn't really have any wow factor at all.
