Alright so earlier, for some reason, a memory of a crime popped into my head. The victim was a woman, I'm pretty sure she was assaulted so badly that she was on the verge of death and left paralysed (not sure if it was permanently) and I think it was just assault, not a rape. I think there was also mention of her having a young son who was present, or she was maybe pregnant. Does anyone know the case I'm talking about? From the early-mid 2000s, I remember it would be talked about on the morning news programs and at night and was really quite high profile; pretty sure she had brown curly hair, if that helps at all. I'd keep it to myself but there's only so long you can google stuff like "woman high profile assault left paralysed son" before you start to feel like an utter creep.

I can only think of Rachel Nickell's murder on Wimbledon Common but that was much earlier, I'm sure...I'll see if I can find out...do you know where it was in the UK?

About 90% sure it was in England, could have been Wales but I'm pretty sure it was England. Definitely not Scotland or Northern Ireland. Mid 2000s I reckon. Pretty sure it was just assault but could have been a rape and assault. This is the kind of thing that will bug me until I find out, and then when I do find out her name, I'll be reading about the case all night. I remember it being pretty horrific, going by what the media were saying at the time!

Yes he stabbed her in the neck while she was pushing the pram...killed himself 8 days later blaming 'the voices within'...sick ****
