Insidious

Awful film...

Tom 05-11-2011 10:38 PM

I sh*t myself in the first half and one of the scariest films I've ever seen. Second half was like a comedy spoof, but scary ending to top it off. Not that bad, and better than Paranormal Activity 3

Vicky. 05-11-2011 10:38 PM

Yes, it was awful. Not even scary.

I only watched it because literally everyone was saying that it was great and really scary and that. Then I watched it and was very disappointed.

Yeah that's exactly why I am too. Everybody has been saying it's "amazing" etc.

Complete balls. I have yet to watch the end of it lol it's on at the moment and my housemates are all jumping and being scared. What the ****?

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 05-11-2011 10:41 PM

i watched this last week i thought it was amazing there were some really creepy bits

Spoiler:

the bit where the voice was coming through the baby monitor and the mum went upstairs and there was somebody stood behind the baby, the bit where she was asleep and the ghost was walking past the window then it suddenly appeared on the other side and went to grab her, and the bit where she put a record on and it changed to that freaky tulips **** and the ghost kid was dancing to it

I'll admit that bit was creepy. But the rest is a joke

i liked the ghost kid. agree with the rest, do neither Vicky or Marc think any of those bits were scary?

It all started going downhill when Darth Maul popped up at the dining table and then the stupid old woman with the gas mask and those 2 idiots arrived

I find it creepy. Not scary. It's strange

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 05-11-2011 10:48 PM

Spoiler:

the seance scene was creepy and stupid at the same time, the camera flashes were creepy but there was just no need for the gas mask thing "_"

and i think they shouldnt have shown the demon they should have just showed the drawings that the kid and the guy in the suit did coz it would be better if it was left to the viewers imagination it just looked really stupid but the scene where he is in his dungeon thing sharpening his claws while that song plays is quite creepy :D oh and the bit when the dad goes back into the house and sees those smiling people

Nope, but saying that I have yet to see a film that I would say scares me. I am always looking :p

That said, when I watched paranormal activity...for a few days afterwards I got a little paranoid thinking that something was going to drag me out of bed while I slept :bored:

Marc 05-11-2011 10:55 PM

It's just so bad

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 05-11-2011 11:00 PM

Paranormal Activity has never bothered me. I'm always on the ghosts side, the stupid little girl shouldn't have been nasty to Toby in PA3 and she would never have been haunted like that :nono: It was absolutely hysterical in the third one when

Spoiler:

the kitchen furniture & appliances vanished and then fell down from the ceiling

I was crying laughing in the pictures and everyone else was bricking it

But from Insidious, have you gained an appreciation for this song? I just want to know that you got something out of it :D

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 05-11-2011 11:09 PM

that song :worship:

Vicky. 05-11-2011 11:12 PM

Yes. I guess I did get something from the film :D

Brother Leon 06-11-2011 12:04 AM

I liked it....didn't really find it scary though, just interesting.

LOL that song

Absolutely shocking film. What started as a good 20 minute opener turned into scary movie 5. Then again, with Darth maul polishing his nails, a stupid kid falling from his step ladder and a midget dancing to 'Tip Toe Through The Window's, it was never going to be a serious horror film. Bloody awful

IheartBB 07-11-2011 06:36 PM

I think how you watch a film (Cinema, DVD, download etc) and having a pre-conceived idea before you watch it has an impact on your final view. For me, I saw it in the cinema when it was first released with pretty much no knowledge except the trailer I saw. I think it was enjoyable and, although quite clichéd, very creepy. The score in particular was piercing.

Not that it was cinematic genius or anything, but maybe having such high expectations and not seeing it in the cinema hindered people's views.

I saw it in the cinema like yourself, was a bloody shambles
