Do they misunderstand what the poppy symbolises? It's rememberance for those who have died in wars, not a status symbol

While poppies like those above do raise awareness of what the poppy stands for, and the Royal British Legion do make some money from their sale, not all of the profit goes to the Legion as it does with the traditional poppy. Someone, somewhere is making a profit from these bling poppies and that is wrong. All profits from remembrance poppies should go to support those who've died and their families, and to commemorate those who have fallen in the past. That's my thoughts on it, anyway.

That's how I found out about these poppies

I'd rather hand over money to the Royal British Leigon sellers themselves, rather than some money making company. I think the paper poppies are perfect.

Wow, it's only 10%. That's worse than I thought. I agree with you, the paper poppies are perfect.

I see nothing wrong with the products - they are attractive, make money and increase awareness ..... but NOBODY should make a profit from them, ALL proceeds, after reasonable deduction of costs, should go to the British Legion ..... :idc:
