Louis Walsh unsure on XF return next year

Louis Walsh has admitted that he may not return for next year's X Factor, confessing that he doesn't find the show fun anymore.

Walsh said in an interview with My Daily that the show was taking over his life and that he preferred the old judging lineups.

Speaking with ex-X Factor judge Dannii Minogue, Walsh said: "Lucky you, Dannii, you are so lucky. Series eight is so tough, Dannii. There's no fun. Everyone is taking it so seriously.

"I thought you had an entourage, Dannii. But these [judges], their entourages have entourages."

Asked to name his dream X Factor panel, he picked all old judges, naming Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Minogue.

Talking about returning to the show in 2012, Walsh claimed that his decision was in the balance.

"At this moment in time, it's 50/50. You only live once. I want my life back. I don't want to be dealing with all these crazy people. And by that I mean the judges," said the Irish music mogul.

Walsh also confessed that he has zero chance of winning this year's competition with his final act Kitty Brucknell. "I'm not going to win. I'm definitely not going to win," he said.

Janet Devlin, Misha B and Marcus Collins were Walsh's tips for this year's final.

I really miss Dannii on the X Factor panel. :(

Personally I think the whole show needs resting for a bit - it's got very tired.

Saph 11-11-2011 01:46 PM

I'll never be happy unless its Simon, Sharon and Louis :(

Patricia4 12-11-2011 09:18 AM

Its not been a good one this year nobody stands out.

Adamw92 12-11-2011 11:31 AM

Even though a lot of people really hated it last year, my favourite panel is Dannii, Simon, Cheryl and Louis, I've really missed Dannii this year :(

Black Dagger 12-11-2011 11:42 AM

Let's hope he stays next year and we get a line-up of Danni, Tulisa, Louis and Simon.

Yeah because that really worked the first time

King Gizzard 12-11-2011 05:46 PM

Theyll probably get someone from the Wanted in to continue their ''lets get judges from crap pop groups'' tradition along with Tulisa

I don't care, that was still the best year panel-wise. I loved how bitchy it was :joker:

Saph 12-11-2011 05:52 PM

As long as Cheryl bloody Cole is nowhere near that pannel desk then im happy.

..but I still want Simon, Sharon & Louis :suspect:

Probably, or wouldn't surprise me if someone from One Direction or Olly Murs joined the panel to offer their expertise

Chris Moyles is the only person that can replace Louis

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 12-11-2011 06:01 PM

doogle series 4 was awful :nono:

Doogle 12-11-2011 06:06 PM

The finalists were **** but it had the best auditions and that crazy bitch Emily who happy slapped someone and the best panel

Series 4 panel was terrible, Dannii completely ruined the Simon Louis and Sharon dynamic without actually adding anything

Dannii couldn't have been any further up Simon's arse that year either, even worse than Cheryl but everyone seems to forget about that because Louis made her cry on air the year after

joeysteele 13-11-2011 12:12 AM

I just cannot get into the series this year at all, I am still watching it but Gary gets on my nerves and I find him far too full of himself, Kelly drives me mad, she is way over the top.

I don't like this bringing an act back,Kelly's hypocrisy knows no bounds, she praised Amelia to the heavens tonight but at the first opportunity sent her packing in the very first show.

No wonder Louis is fed up, this series has become a farce and whoever wins is likely to have the shortest career ever because there is little credibility left from the bit that was left until now.

Gary and Kelly particularly have been a huge mistake on the show. It's fading definately.

It'll be a travesty if Louis leaves, it didn't work for one episode during series four and it certainly wouldn't work for an entire series. He's not disposable like Dannii/Cheryl etc and as stupid as his comments/choices may often be, it brings an entirely different dimension to the panel if you ask me, and they'd struggle to find a suitable replacement, I agree with Tom regarding Chris Moyles though. But you can't top Louis, he's just...lovable, in an annoying way.

It didn't work because they put Brian in as his replacement, who is so dull it's unreal. Louis is completely disposable, his only purpose is to irritate the other judges and be lumped with the crap category every year. I've never liked Louis all that much, but this year I just don't hate him as much because Gary and Kelly are worse.

GypsyGoth 13-11-2011 12:57 AM

I think Louis leaving would kill the show.

StraightEdge695 13-11-2011 03:02 AM

x factor just isnt the same any more..

That's the entertainment in it though, if we didn't have that the panel would be way too serious, a lot less funny and there wouldn't really be any 'stupid' judge for everyone to laugh at.

You could argue of course that the panel needs to be more serious, but let's face it, it's all panto...you need that element of humour.

The role that he fills is entertaining, yes, but I don't think he himself is entertaining. There are plenty of people who could take on that role and do it better than Louis. The show needs him this year because he's experienced in the role, but if Simon, Cheryl and Dannii were still there and somebody else had replaced Louis, I really doubt anyone would have missed his presence on the show. It's panto but it doesn't have to be stupid.

I have to disagree, I think Louis is one of a kind if you ask me. Yeah there are other people like Chris Moyles who would fulfill the role well and would be entertaining, but I really don't think anybody could top Louis. Louis is just...Louis.
