Fetch The Bolt Cutters 14-11-2011 02:37 PM

what would happen if...

yeah i did get this from misfits before anybody says :nono:

so anyway a set of conjoined twins, like joined at the hip or something so its basically just 2 different bodies what would happen if one of them killed somebody and the other was completely innocent? actually if they were just joined at the hip they would be able to be separated so maybe that doesn't even make sense

i saw a documentary once and it was basically just a giant head with 2 bodies dangling from it so they couldn't be separated what would happen if one of them killed somebody :suspect:

Smithy 14-11-2011 02:41 PM

If it was just one head then it's just one brain so one person with two bodies?

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 14-11-2011 02:42 PM

no it wasnt they each had different personalities :hmph:

okay maybe the head thing isnt a good example, but if they were conjoined somewhere where they couldnt be separated

Niamh. 14-11-2011 02:43 PM

Yeah what Smithy said

You answered your own question.

No 'maybe' about it. It doesn't make sense. Full stop.

Niall 14-11-2011 08:00 PM

It does actually make sense: if two people were joined in some manner physically from birth, and couldn't be separated then it would be interesting to see what the authorities would do should one commit murder whilst the other is innocent.

Its actually a really good question.

Doogle 14-11-2011 08:10 PM

Well the other person is stuck to them, they can't not be arrested really.

MTVN 14-11-2011 08:12 PM

I've no idea  I guess they'd have to reach some kind of a compromise where they have a lesser sentence or they give the other one compensation or something like that

Ammi 14-11-2011 08:12 PM

I guess as they would be conjoined, they would have to both go to court, prison etc if convicted regardless of the innocent one....I read a book 'The Girls' about conjoined twins..it was very interesting....especially when one had sex for the first time

you do realise that 'both' of them would have to walk to the scene of the crime.

Have a think and see how sensible it sounds.

Wouldn't they be an accessory though? :suspect:

One of them doesn't have to know that the other's going to commit a crime though..

So let's say the use a gun, a rope, a lead pipe..... how exactly do they manage to get a hold of such without the other one knowing.....

King Gizzard 14-11-2011 08:15 PM

The other person surely would of stopped the person from doing the murder, if it went ahead he'd be to blame as well I think for letting it happen

I don't know & I don't care tbh, maybe one of them got a knife to cut a cake and went and stabbed someone else in the room  sure it's incredibly unlikely but it's a hypothetical situation, the practicalities of doing such a thing aren't what the question's about..

Locke. 14-11-2011 08:18 PM

There is only one solution, find some siamese twins and send them to kill Pyramid

An accessory?! What, like a watch? That's something GaGa would wear :suspect:

But no I do not understand what you mean :joker:

Jordan. 14-11-2011 08:20 PM

Just kill the one that commited the crime and the other will have to put up with carrying its corpse everywhere

Yeah but not by choice. They'd have been forced to be an accessory.

This is actually a really interesting question and has given me a great idea for some writing. Cheers Scott.

Why bother with the rest of your explanation then if you don't care.

I'm only putting up my own different viewpoint - I'm not simply dismissing other people's ideas or views.

LOL. They'd need to be like conjoined Octuplets to stand even half a chance Locke. :D
