49-year-old Michael Jackson is to appear in court charged with kidnapping a 10-year-old boy in Oldbury.

Police said the boy, who is from the Oldbury area, was reported missing on Sunday morning after he failed to return home from local shops.

He was later found at a nearby flat.

Michael Jackson is charged with kidnap, false imprisonment, threats to kill and sexual assault. Another man, aged 48, has been released on bail and a third man, aged 30, was freed without charge.

Police said Mr Jackson, from Oldbury, has also been charged with child abduction relating to a separate incident on 14 September in which an 11-year-old child, also from Oldbury, was allegedly abducted.

The child was unharmed and contacted police after Sunday's incident, police said.

The man will appear at Warley Magistrates' Court on Wednesday
