Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

King Gizzard 18-11-2011 10:27 PM

I know there was another thread couple of weeks back, but I think it's actually happened this time, loads of people on twitter confirming it..

It's about time, awful overpaid duo

I wouldn't mind Dan Lobb getting it full time but I think Johnny Vaughans doing it

Callum 18-11-2011 10:28 PM

I assume Dan Lobb and Kate Garraway will become the permanent hosts now then

Maia 18-11-2011 10:30 PM

Poor guys. The One Show won't want them back now

Tom 18-11-2011 10:30 PM

About time. Bring on Helen Fospero :amazed: she was getting the job according to articles a few weeks back. I hope John Stapleton comes back as well

I do like them but they're not suited to Daybreak at all. Christine now has Dancing on Ice and Adrian is doing other stuff so they're never on anyway and its a good time for them to move on

King Gizzard 18-11-2011 10:31 PM

Chiles shouldn't be in TV/broadcasting FULL STOP

Alex Jones > Christine Bleakley

Callum 18-11-2011 10:31 PM

Helen Fospero will likely become the Friday presenter with perhaps John Stapelton or Johnny Vaughan.

Scarlett. 18-11-2011 11:11 PM

Bring back GMTV =D

Toxic 18-11-2011 11:14 PM

I liked them, everyone who said they were awful are just saying it because they moved to ITV for loads of money and ditched the boring BBC.

They were no worse than any of the other morning presenters.

Nope, Adrian was terrible, er this er that, and Christine was down right annoying.

No more annoying or terrible than the cringe worthy BBC Breakfast presenter guy, I don't even know his name, or care to know.

And the two women on the Breakfast show are awful! I recently read that they refused to move out of London for their jobs and demanded a pay-off for when the BBC moves up north.

Callum 18-11-2011 11:19 PM

Adrian always stutters, he is not a good presenter in the slightest. Always miserable too. It's bizarre that someone thought it would be a good idea to have him presenting a morning show in the first place.

Toxic 18-11-2011 11:21 PM

Adrian is terrible, I admit that.

How he ever got on ANY television show is beyond me, talk about a face for radio.

Kazanne 18-11-2011 11:22 PM

Just dont bring Fiona Phillips and Eamon Holmes back!!They both do my head in,it's bad enough with Lorraine still hanging on in there, lol.

Whenever I put "Lorraine" on its always Fiona Phillips or Helen Fospero presenting it anyway :joker:

I like Lorraine. I like Eamonn too but Sunrise is good, so are him & Ruth on This Morning so I don't want him on Daybreak

Johnny Vaughn & Helen would be a good shout to take over, I hope they don't choose Kate & Dan. I liked them at first but can't stand them anymore. Garraway is unbearable again, her laugh is horrendous

Locke. 18-11-2011 11:32 PM

Jeff Stelling and Chris Kamara being rumoured to be in talks

DAYBREAK disaster duo Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley have been axed after being given a thumbs-down by viewers.

ITV bosses finally lost patience with their star presenters as ratings continued to dwindle.

The pair, who were poached from the BBC last year with golden handcuff deals of £1million a year, will now disappear from the breakfast sofa “within weeks”.

A source said last night: “They ran out of time to turn Daybreak around. The advertising numbers had fallen off a cliff because Adrian and Christine were such a turn-off. In today’s climate that was unacceptable.”

Bleakley and Chiles have both been informed of the decision.

Chiles, who hosts ITV’s Champions League Football coverage and has a Sunday night chat show, was prepared to admit he had been axed from Daybreak, according to the source.

But Bleakley, who is engaged to Chelsea star Frank Lampard, wants it to be said she is leaving for new projects.

Last night it emerged she is to replace Holly Willoughby next year as host of ITV’s Dancing on Ice – where she will hope to pick herself up after the Daybreak debacle.

Following a lavish £15million launch last September, Daybreak saw ratings settle at a poor 700,000 – half their BBC Breakfast rival – prompting advertising revenues to plunge.

ITV are now planning an April relaunch and will try out a number of different presenters, preferring two relative unknowns.

Chiles, 44, and Bleakley, 32, were poached from the BBC’s massively successful One Show by ITV chief Peter Fincham.

He continued to back the highly paid pair, despite Daybreak pulling in 200,000 fewer viewers than its axed *predecessor GMTV.

However, ITV chief executive Adam Crozier insisted that the pair were dumped.

Chiefs want the show freshened up and David Kermode – the star editor who helped to revive BBC Breakfast – was hired last month.

The source revealed: “With a new editor joining, it is only fair to allow him to reinvent the series in the hope it can compete with BBC Breakfast, which was the original aim.

“If changes aren’t made, the audience is never going to grow and the show will be standing still or going backwards. That’s not an option.

“It may seem harsh but Christine and Adrian been given more than a year to prove themselves. They have to go. They have been given the bad news and will be off the programme within the next few weeks.”

The Mirror revealed in the summer that bosses were trying to axe the pair from the “horribly under-performing” show. One insider described them as an “expensive headache”.

Last night Bleakley said she was delighted to be joining co-host Phillip Schofield on Dancing on Ice.

She said: “I’ve always been a total Dancing on Ice addict so it really is hard to sum up how excited I am to be joining the team.

“My only concern was what a big task it is to follow Holly and I can only promise her, Phillip and everyone at home that they couldn’t have a bigger fan of the show on board.”
Looks like Dan and Kate/Helen will be filling in until April then

King Gizzard 18-11-2011 11:37 PM

Lorraine is such a pointless show

Especialy that Ross guy reporting on irrelevant celebrities and probably getting paid lots to do it

Not to mention Lorraine getting paid alot of money when she's hardly even there

True, Lorraine is hardly on. It was silly to call the show simply "Lorraine".

It won't be axed though because it gets more viewers than Daybreak itself.

bbfan1991 18-11-2011 11:46 PM

Not surprised. Daybreak was doomed from start to finish. Both Christine and Adrian messed up ditching the BBC for ITV, bet they regret it now despite the high wages.

Lorraine is a waste of time too. BBC Breakfast rules in the morning!

exoticrosebud 19-11-2011 08:11 AM

...there is a god after all !!! lol.........just got to get my gorgeous frank to dump her now and my world is complete !! lol....(not that im bitter and jealous you understand ! ) lol

seriously though, she is total rubbish at presenting, and hes like a bloody wooden horse. My brother met him not so long ago with Frank Skinner.....said Frank was great (cus he went to school with my sister in law) but Chilles was so sneering and up his self..glad they are both gon.....
and i hope she doesnt compare the skating like it says in the other thread on here!

fruit_cake 19-11-2011 09:43 AM

didn't realise Adrian was 44, I thought he was younger.

clbleakley: Morning, what a lovely headline to wake up to. My sarcasm comes across in this tweet I hope x
I actually feel quite sorry for Christine, the fact they are blaming her and Adrian for the failure of the show is unfair. It's the show that's crap, wouldn't have made a difference who was presenting, it was destined to fail from the start.

Tom 20-11-2011 05:48 PM

I feel a bit sorry for Christine as well, shes an alright presenter but not suited to this at all. Adrian on the other hand has a strong journalist background and he hasn't been great.

Its official btw, not rumours anymore. They leave at the end of the year. He's already slagging ITV off like he was slagging the BBC off when he got dropped from Fridays One Show. When their contracts are up I can see Christine staying but ITV will ditch Adrian faster than he ditched the BBC

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/news/...ant-to-go.html

and 18 months on, it all begins again.
