Gary not coming back next year?
 

JUST when you thought things couldn’t get any worse for X Factor, Gary Barlow has delivered another gut-wrenching body blow.

This year’s series has seen a cocaine scandal, race row, an electrical blackout on live TV plus, of course, the obligatory autotune rumpus.

And now, to add insult to injury, new judge Gary has dropped his biggest hint yet that he WON’T be coming back for next year’s series.

He said: “I’m taking some time off next year to remind myself who my children are and what their names are.”

Daniel, 11, Emily, nine, and Daisy, two, Gary, in case you really HAD forgotten...

“Next year doesn’t even feel like it’s approaching,” he added.

The Take That star was speaking at last night’s Children In Need Rocks Manchester gig, which he organised. “It’s been nice to concentrate on something other than X Factor,” he said. “We’re in a bubble down there. It’s been good to leave London. We get tied up with our own importance.”

The concert featured his new buddies Kelly Rowland and Tulisa, as well as Lady Gaga, Jessie J, JLS and Coldplay.

“I contacted everyone myself,” says Gary, 40. “I usually start with an email, then call them. It’s important to do that, rather than get a call from some researcher.”

However, Cheryl Cole was forced to pull out of a duet with Gary after she was struck down with pharyngitis.

Gary, who sung Back for Good on his lonesome, told me: “I didn’t want to replace her because it was going to be such a nice moment for her tonight. She’s gutted. Who knows, we might be able to do a duet another time.”

On next year’s X Factor maybe?

Good. He said on the One Show last week that he didn't know if he was coming back (I think, might of been another show)

I won't miss him, he is a really good songwriter and also has a good voice but as a mentor and judge,he is a bit out of his depth.

He hasn't really done well in his choices or comments at all on X Factor so if he doesn't come back next year,I will be really glad.
One of the X Factors strengths though was the continuity in the main of the panel which with the loss of Dannii this year particularly,also Simon not there too, the show has suffered heavily in my view.

I am watching it but not enjoying it or even into it the way I used to be.

Gary was one of the reasons I chose to watch the show this year, yet each week I'm finding him more and more annoying.

Hope he doesnt. I hope they replace Kelly aswell.

Get rid of him and Ghetto Rowland.

I fully agree Visage, I expected really constructive and encouraging comments from him as to the acts, obviously he cannot like all of them but I thought he would bring a more temperate and knowledgable balance to the show.
However, as you say each week he has just got more annoying.He has lost credibility in my view.

Actually the 'fan gurls' want him back with Take That :p Every interview I've read with him/seen of him he's says he's love to go back. He's taking a break after XF, he didn't actually say he wasn't coming back to it.

Hes easily the worst judge anyway, hes so Hypocritical.

Gary doesnt work well on the show IMO, he's not got the same presence as Cowell
