I thought it was suppose to be a bottom two tonight?
Did they explain why it got changed?
|
It wasn't supposed to be, it was always going to be a straight-out elimination.

Really they have just made it all up as they have gone along this series of X Factor and we the viewers learn very little from Dermot, the judges and the producers despite all the pointless chatter they do week after week on the show. |
Even on This Morning on monday they were speculating who would be the bottom 2 but by midweek the announcemment came that they had decided the semi final night vote as to who gets to the final would now only be decided by the public, last week and up to midweek it was going to be a bottom 2,that was expected.
They never announced it was only down to the public only until midweek this week. Danyl who was on it was on a programme, maybe This Morning too, at the start of the week and he also said it should be down to the public for who gets to the final, he also pointed out that the quarter finals used to be only the public vote too. Maybe they listened to his points because they sure don't listen to the viewers. |
Ok thanks Joey and Molled Wine ,it does seem like that they havent planned this week out at all.
|
They probably realised they'd piss off a lot of viewers (not that it stopped them before)
So didn't want to chance it. |
It wasn't supposed to bottom two.
It hasn't ever been that way... In the past years anyway |

There's never been a sing-off with four acts left, it's more often than not been that case with five acts left, however people seem to forget there was a sing-off with five acts left in series 1 and 3, and instead choose to believe that last year's semi-final sing-off, where there were also five acts left, was a 'fix'.
Never ever has there been one with four left, and I reckon that'll be what'll happen in future now, with a sing-off still with five left. |
Yes, but last saturday Dermot and no one else said that it was now down to the public only, like they always do.
Even on the interviews on Monday, Lorraine and This morning they were speculating who would be in the bottom 2 and why wasn't it now just down to the public vote. Nothing was said from the X Factor team about it until Wednesday when they announced that this weeks semi final vote as to who gets to the final,it has been decided that all will 'now be decided by the public only'. People expected that like in any other year it would be decided by the public only but when no announcement came from Dermot or the Judges as to that fact, speculation mounted that there was going to be another sing off, hence the announcement midweek of what was termed as the 'decision to make the vote for the finalists to be only by the public vote'. The public also in previous years, used to until last year or two also decide who went through to the semi finals from the quarter finals, that changed in the last 2 years,it would seem they were trying to stop it being a public vote only in the semi finals too this year but decided against doing so midweek though not last Saturday or Sunday. |
The semi-final's have always gone to the public vote

I don't recall saying it was a fix, anyway all I know is and I watched Lorraine and This Morning this week and none of them knew for sure that there wasn't a sing off this week, they were even specualting how it would work with only 4 acts.
Why then did the X Factor team feel the need to say midweek that they had decided the semi final vote for the final would only be down to the public now, if that was already the case, further why didn't Dermot say as they do every year normally, last Saturday and Sunday, that it was now only down to the public for who gets to the final. He didn't because they were keeping all options open for whatever reason. Not a fix, I never said it was,I only said what most presenters and others were saying right until midweek when X Factor themselves announced,(never been done before either for the X factor team to announce it midweek), that only the public would decide who goes to the final and that there would be no sing off. |

They would never have named the bottom 2 because we would then know who the likeliest finalists were going to be.
The Semi Final has always been down to the public vote |
People were just coming up with theories because they thought the production wanted Misha in the finale.

Time X Factor did the same to stop this 'guiding' of results. No need for midweek announcements either, you believed there was bottom 2 and so did lots of others,I couldn't understand why we hadn't been told it was only the public vote that decided the finalists as in other years, as I said in posts above, Jeff Brazier, Danyl and the presenters were speculating who would be in the bottom 2, also why was it not the public only deciding the result this week, Despite having a 90 minute programme Saturday, and a further 1 hour programme on Sunday plus an hour each night of Xtra Factor too, no one said that the semi finals would be decided by the public only, they 'had' to make an announcement midweek saying it had been decided that 'there would be no sing off in the semi final and that it would be the public vote only that decided the finalists'. It's time these programme planners starting treating the voting public with a bit more decency and keep them informed of what is happening week by week and stop treating us like mushrooms, keeping us in the dark and shovelling ..... at us. |
