Quote:

TV chef Antony Worrall Thompson has been cautioned by police for shoplifting.

Police arrested the 60-year-old at the Tesco store in Reading Road, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, on Friday.

Mr Worrall Thompson, from High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, was questioned and given a formal caution.

A police spokesman said the incident involved "low value goods". Tesco declined to comment describing it as a "police matter".

In a statement, police added: "Thames Valley Police arrested a 60-year-old man from High Wycombe following a report of shoplifting offences.

"The man has been issued with a formal caution for these offences."
60 is a dangerous age .... ;)

Radio 5 has reported
Anger from the Public at Tesco
as they let him do it for 4 times first
then got the Police in - And let him off?
If that was a member of the public Tesco would have charged them.

general views on antony (chef ) shoplifting

ready steady - shoplift

on your marks get set,
please everyone shop lift,
a celebrity chef is not a safe bet,
this smell is going to cause one hell of a rift.
so what is it that is cooking,
is the press going to town,
a formal caution is the booking,
he must feel red raw and full of runny brown.
antony like as all, is suffering,
his restaurant is effected by the recession,
are the majority of us shop lifting buffering,
or is it a deeper matter and in inverted comma's "depression".
the benefit of doubt please,
even if 5 times he has crossed the line,
he could well be ill and this line is not cheese,
i don't think "well" received will be his wine.
i have to end as of my friend,
we are off to the west end for a meal,
antony will want to bring this to a end,
but the stigma wont be dropped when he is paying at any till.

(i feel sorry for this guy but how do you feel ?)

Lucky Bastard

Gets the idiot back in the public eye. He should not have got off at all, I bet he knew exactly what he was doing, probably thought he was too good to pay for all his shopping. Still if he is offered any more food shows he will get so much ribbing from others on the shows it will be worth it to see his annoyance and shame :D
