Can you see channel 5 renewing the big brother deal?
I hope they do and thin they will only on a short term deal, maybe another 4 series (2 celeb 2 normal)
But apart of me sees them just cutting there ties with bb completely |
The Celebrity series yes. It's doing very well for Channel 5, and it has beaten Channel 4 in every slot since Thursday.
|
Doubt they will renew the normal series
|
Do they not come as a package though?
I could see Channel 4 trying to take it back because it would generate a certain interest with a return to Channel 4. |

The CBB series will be back but I think the next series of normal BB will be the last.
|
I would like to think it would get renewed, but sadly I can't see it happening especially the summer series.
|
I think the summer series renewal will depend on the summer's series. It's returning to its normal slot and will have far less competition [not just on the box, but for newspaper coloum-inches] without strictly, X factor and rumours about IAC. Figures SHOULD rise a bit this year for the summer series because of this.. we hope anyway...
|
I can see it being renewed, but only for another two years.
|
They should because CBB helps them beat C4.
|
Celebrity version, yes. Normal version, no.
|
I have very little doubt at all.so yes, they will.

Yes, yes, and yes.
The two come as 1 package, so five will have to take normal bb if they want the celeb or go without. And tbh, looking at their ratings they desperately need bb. Even the normal BB averaged 1.7 or 1.8mil for the series, thats alot more then 85% of their shows. Five have pretty much confirmed how delighted they are with bb atm anyway. Here is the link http://www.mediaweek.co.uk/news/1109...CMP=ILC-SEARCH Seeing as both normal and celebrity BB acheived higher ratings then pretty much all 5ives other shows. It's played a significant role. "Hosting the 'Big Brother' franchise has enabled Channel 5 to deepen its reach among the elusive 16- to 34-year-old demographic and helped attract multimillion-pound commercial deals, not least with its official sponsor Domino's. On average, the 'Big Brother' final attracted 1.8 million viewers and the 'Celebrity Big Brother' final 3.7 million, both of which helped boost Channel 5's evening audience by 25% year on year." With that target audience increasing, theirs no chance of bb going anywhere. |
Surly the normal version is cheaper to run and make then the celeb one. A couple of 100k here and a few 25k-50k there soon adds up! Why would they keep the celeb one over the normal one. Maybe the celeb 1 gets 700,000 more viewers but that's only over 3 week the normal one gets 1.5 million over 9 week. That's the money maker in my eye

I think BB's here to stay.
|
While I am pessimistic I think there is a good 2-3 years left in the show yet.
Plus it has to be back next year, NPH wants to do it  |
Celebrity will probably be renewed for at least 2 seasons
Regular will probably be on hiatus for two or three years. And has anyone thought that NPH was saying that just to nod the american version to have their own? |
