Maybe it has something to do with the ridiculous deals they had...that werent deals at all and anyone with a brain would know that.

Things like '2 tubes of pringles for ONLY £4!!!!!!!!' when all through the year one tube is £1.29 or something

See a few of those ripoff deals, go elsewhere.

I often stop at tesco when I'm out at work to buy chilli and coriander prawns for my lunch. They used to cost £3.50 but were always on buy two for £6.00. Then when the big price cut came along the price went down to £3.00 but buy two for £5.00. Sounds good I thought until I noticed that the weight of the prawns had gone down from 200grams to 160grams.

Thats not a particularly patriotic ideal is it?

Tescos being a British Firm. It would mean a lot of job losses in the UK.

Dont think the American owned Asda(Walmart) would step in and pick up all Tescos assets, some people do have standards even the monopolies and mergers commission.

You know Arista, I used to have real respect for you.

I didnt realise you was such a mercenary unpatriotic deal seeker, its pointless hiding behind that smokescreen of support for other British retailers.

Admit it man, you are a Yank arent you? You want to see all British Retail chains fall to the mighty Walmart. Because if that bastion of britishness Tesco falls, then the others will follow like dominoes.

That would simply leave your beloved Walmart to throw us the crap lower grade produce they love churning out at the prices they then decided.

Dammit man.
Feel the Farce.

Me? Crazy?

I am not the one who wants to see a British Firm fail, British jobs lost, only to be picked up by an American retail giant. Who reduces the profits of the suppliers by specification and price controls that keep suppliers profit margins just about economic viability, while hoovering up monster profit themselves for their stateside shareholders.

Oh and their bloody trolleys fall apart quicker than Tesco ones. (Oh and Tesco pay their workers at a higher rate too). (Oh and Tescos provide a higher % of disabled car park spaces per car park) (And another thing they also have a higher spec for their Parent and Child parking spaces)
