Oxford City sack Lee Steele for homophobic tweet about CBB
"Oxford City have sacked their striker Lee Steele for posting a homophobic remark on Twitter about the former Wales rugby player Gareth Thomas
Thomas is currently taking part in Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5 and, passing comment on the show, Steele tweeted: ‘I wouldn’t fancy the bed next to Gareth Thomas #padlockmyarse’." http://www.caughtoffside.com/2012/01...itter-message/ Seems a little harsh to me? |
well i guess he's saying he's a bottom then and he thinks gareth is a top??
typical insecure bottom boy. |
What is the point in saying something like that. Its just nasty and uncalled for.
What an asshole. |
Oh lord. Makes me ashamed to be from Oxford :bored: what a douche

He's basically implying that Gareth is a RAPIST, which is a disgusting allegation. gareth seems lovely to me. i can't imagine him being a rapist at all.

the implication is clearly that Gareth would rape whoever is closest to him. |

if Jimmy Carr had said it nowt would have happened. The sacking is to do with his employers sh-itting themselves in case they were blamed for something - they could not give a monkeys about homosexuals. |

Thought this would be a young player but he is 38. Already found a new club aswell.
Sacked footballer Lee Steele has apologised for his comment about gay rugby star Gareth Thomas in a statement issued by his new club, Nantwich Town FC, but has been charged by the FA for bringing the game into disrepute. Steele, 38, was let go by Oxford City after writing on Twitter: “I wouldn’t fancy the bed next to Gareth Thomas #padlockeda**ehole”. He was referring to Thomas’s appearance on the latest series of Celebrity Big Brother. The comment about the openly-gay retired sportsman, made earlier this month, was subsequently removed and as of today, Steele’s Twitter account appears to have been removed. http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2012/01/16...-thomas-tweet/ |
That's what always irritates me, no straight guy fancies every woman he sees, yet panic that a gay guy will come on to them as though they'll sleep with anything. They might be gay but (like everyone) they don't find every man they come into contact with attractive.
|
it annoys me when guys that like think gay guys automatically want to have sex with them reminds me of being at school 'ooh hes here backs against the wall lads'
erm no you have BO and terrible acne http://englishcafecdn.englishcafe.co...35898.post.jpg |
This is why Celebrities should not use Twitter

He is just a normal guy on a normal wage, Oxford and Nantwich are both playing in a semi-pro league at the minute
|
how shameful.
Why you would even deem that worthy of tweeting though  I'd be happy he was sacked out of sheer stupidity rather than the homophobic undertones |
Frickin' dinosaur.
|
He deserved to be sacked in my opinion. He obviously has a big tip for himself, if he thinks gay men can't keep their hands off him.. what a tool.

It was stupid what he said but as Vicky pointed out with the link, people can call Frankie (a straight guy) a rapist and mean it,but you can't joke about Gareth Thomas being a rapist? it's hypocrisy at it's worst.
