The Afghan leader wants to go into talks with the Taliben
but they Demand America lets the Prisoners go from Gitmo (Guantanamo Bay).



Of Course The USA President said he would Close Gitmo down.
They have all the Data they need from all the Prisoners
so let them go or get them into a Real Court.

obama tried to close down Guantanamo, he asked all the countries that had been screaming about "ohh guantanamo is against human rights, blah blah blah) if they'd be willing to take the prisoners. and guess what response he got? All of a sudden all those countries screaming about "human rights abuses" all of a sudden they were no where to be found...

The only reason Gitmo is still open is cause no other countries will take the prisoners. Funny how that worked out, isn't it.

It's disgusting the way the UK and US governments have treated this whole Guantanamo issue, we have a British guy still there who has been kept for ten years without ever being charged, ten years without ever seeing a shred of evidence against him, ten years in inhumane conditions while his health has deteriorated to the point that he's on the verge of death, so much for the promises of the Coalition and Obama

There are no British citizens currently in Guantanamo, you are mistaken.

Name plzzz. Plz inform us who this British citizen on the brink of death is lol. I'm sure every journalist in the world would like to know, cause that's quite an incredible story if this Brit on the brink of death actually exists.

They also call him "British" in the title and a "Briton" in the first paragraph, I don't know why you're being so semantic and defensive :S I wasn't lying, but he's the responsibility of the British government and is considered to be a Brit, and his treatment is wrong regardless of his nationality, stop being so aggressive

He can Close it Down by sending those Prisoners
to Afghan to be free.

Any he thinks are Real Guilty put them in a Proper Court.


Simple

The intention of Obama was never to close the whole of Guantanamo, he is a politician, a common tactic is to make promises they know they wont be able to keep.

Theres an old saying that you can always tell when a politician is lying, their lips move.

Also for a man who you say has asked that other countries "take" the prisoners in Gitmo I find it very strange he would sign the 2011 Defence Authorisation Bill which actually prevents the transfer of Gitmo inmates either to the US maniland or overseas. Its a funny old world isnt it?

Didnt he also bring onto US statute a provision for the inmates to be held indefinately without trial?

Obviously you can't just drop then back into the"bomb belt" aka the middle east, they'd be recruited right back into being terrorists, which is how they got to Guantanamo to begin with. Obviously you'd have to give them to Australia, or the UK, or Germany or some other 1st world country for them to be rehabilittaded, and hopefully adapt to life in a western nation and give up their terrorist ways.

Why would Obama put the terrorists in Guantanamo back intoAfghanistan just so they could try to kill American troops again? How would that make sense to YOU at all? That's the stupidest thing i've ever heard.

I never said it, nor did I imply it.

I pointed out that initially he wanted to transfer prisoners to mainland US prisons, or in some cases transfer them back to their countries of origin. Obviously only the ones that came from countries he would expect to keep them in detention.
