i imagine it'd be easier than climbing a mountain,. really this isn't impressive at all. Obviously they have plenty of tools and instruments able to dig into ice. Digging into ROCK is much harder(no pun intended).

Really? Ice isnt as sturdy as rock, you can't tell me that guy in the first pic isnt impressive?

It's much easier to stick your spiked boots and pick axe into ice to pull yourself up. I could easily do what the guy in that picture is doing.

So how far he gets up shear rock mountain face like that...

Rock maybe harder to hook into to, but that's what makes ice more dangerous, it is more fragile and can easily shatter, crack and break at the wrong hit.

that is not ice that will easily shatter or break. If the ice is able to support itself, and clearly that sheet of ice is hundreds of tons heavy and atleast a hundred feet tall, there's no way spiked boots or picks are going to shatter it. get real.

Even if that guy TRIED to break that sheet of ice, he couldn't do it. You'd need powerful explosives to shatter that ice.
