Just Thinking Over Things I wish...

I know everyone hates these threads...
Congrats!! To Denise Winning! :)

But looking over it I do feel Gareth Should Have Won.
-He is Hilarious!
-He is very kind and means well.
-Had a tough few years
-Excellent housemate.
-More entertaining that Denise (I live Denise, but she was becoming irritating)
-Down to Earth
-Peace maker
-He is an inspiration of a man.

I'm sorry TIBB for making YET ANOTHER one of these threads, but I do feel he should have won.

Kizzy 05-02-2012 02:13 PM

i think so too, great HM .

Marcus. 05-02-2012 02:15 PM

yeah he was an great housemate

Jack_ 05-02-2012 02:16 PM

Looking over it I think it's fantastic that he didn't win

- He was excruciatingly boring!
- He had no storylines!
- He contributed nothing substantial to the series!
- He sat on the fence!
- The fence he sat on was so bored of him it fell over!
- He was the worst CBB housemate in history!

Thank **** he didn't win.

MTVN 05-02-2012 02:17 PM

No he was boring as hell, can't really think of one interesting thing he did that wasn't part of a task

As usual channel 5 did not give him and a few others enough air time.
He was amazing!

I can understand that's what you think.
But isn't it a bit harsh to say worst CBB housemate?

I think he was amazing! In my top 3 anyway :)

Jack_ 05-02-2012 02:26 PM

Name me one thing he did that created a talking point for forums and Bit On The Side. Something of interest, something that wasn't set up by BB (like a task), something he did himself.

Cause I can't think of anything. He contributed next to nothing. There's been some dullards in the past but even they have done at least something...

HAHAH that dreadful show, i could become talking point in that, its so offtopic.

ALL the tasks! especially the Japanese One!
Also the fact he calmed the fight down like any nice person would do.
He tried to comfort Nic, yet her being a bitch kept making it worse.

Kizzy 05-02-2012 02:35 PM

yep he was funny when needed, didnt drink himself into oblivion every night, or make a twunt of himself. You dont have to be a compleat fruitloop to be entertaining do you?

Jack_ 05-02-2012 02:57 PM

Where do I start?

That's besides the point. Whatever your opinions of the show, the entire premise of it is that it discusses the latest happenings inside the house, i.e. arguments, romances (or fauxmances) etc. They're not going to discuss what Gareth had for breakfast now, are they?

They discuss the interesting talking points, as do forums like these. You know...like arguments and feuds that spark debates. Gareth created none of these, I'm afraid.

You missed the point there.

The fact that he tried to calm the fight down isn't a good thing...it's a bad thing, in the eyes of the viewer at least. If you're in there, then well yeah, of course you'd want him to defuse the argument. Most people would because you're living with them. In that respect, if I were living with him I'd see him as a lovely guy...as did most of the housemates. I'm not saying he's not, but the point is we're not living with them, and so should look at these types of situations differently, i.e. from the perspective of the viewer who really, should be looking to get the most entertainment (in other words the most talking points) out of any possible situation.

You want fights to continue, not end. That way there's more to talk about. And having more to talk about benefits the show. It's an on-going cycle. Without talking points, the show would fail. That's it, really.

No, of course not. But you do need to do something worthwhile, something that gets people talking, something of interest. Not sit on your arse, not say a word, not contribute anything substantial, fly under the radar, make the final by default and God forbid...win.

I say this all the time but having things to discuss with a show like Big Brother is absolutely crucial. It's what people talk about the next day at school or work, on forums, in the media, on spin-off shows. Imagine if all housemates were like Gareth, or Hira, or Rachel Rice...then we'd have nothing to talk about. And what good to the show is that? If there's nothing to talk about, there's nothing to watch.

If a housemate can't create a discussion topic through their actions inside the house then they are a completely useless housemate.

Bollo 05-02-2012 03:50 PM

Sorry OP, but I agree with Jack

Visage 05-02-2012 04:20 PM

He is a good guy and was a good housemate, but no winner for BB.

Scotty07 05-02-2012 05:09 PM

He's now a CBB legend, a legendary CBB bore.:sleep::idc:

Well said young man!

It is nice to see that Gareth's overall decency and genuineness reached at least some of the younger viewers !

And for this alone, I will be rooting for you in BB 15. :cheer:

Cheers.

reece(: 06-02-2012 06:44 PM

oh please, gareth was the biggest dullard this year, nothing special about him other than the reason he was on the show, no spark no entertainment value just a boring loser, did nothing memorable and is in no way a housemate you will remember when you say CBB 2012

HBB1508 07-02-2012 08:17 AM

I agree with the OP I loved Gareth and wished he had been shown more. I like the entertainers through the show but always want the decent guy to win.

yea i feel channel 5 did a lets be frank... **** job at making sure all housemates got air time.
I don't like her, but i feel Natasha wasn't given enough.
And i don't like her, nor dislike. It's non of my business what happened but i feel she was cheated out of air time with Gareth along with MANY others.

Kizzy 07-02-2012 05:07 PM

There was a reason for that, and it was old bag shaped. hehehe

TheManWhoLaughs 07-02-2012 05:42 PM

He was a self-righteous prick who sided with the majority and continues to openly badmouth the Twins for the fact they dared to "want to win". Worst CBBer except Jack Tweed.

If a boring guy had to win, Romeo was the better choice as he at least seemed genuinely nice instead of just a gutless wonder.

if he sided with the majority then why did he not side with Denise?
