next step is a long shortlist, only 150-ish will make it, its a group audition in London, I was contacted 2 weeks afterwards last year.

Hi someotherguy

What does the long shortlist interview/audition consist of as I have made it to the Diary Room at the Manchester Auditions and was told I would be called at some point if successful.

Many thanks

Unless it's changed, you'll be put in a group of 10 and forced to do a bunch of team-building exercises/debates/personality games for a couple of hours.

It's not something you can really prepare for - just make sure you show your personality (without being desperate for attention; they make sure everyone gets to speak) and keep your finger's crossed that you have some chemistry with people in your group so you stand out.

Oh Crikey,

What sort of things does this include?

What type of team building exercises, what debates and what personality games did you do last year?

Many thanks

It's basically the same sorts of stuff they do in the picking pens - though in a group that's more deliberately designed to be a 'mini-cast' (i.e. with roughly 1 person from each of the different 'roles') to see how they interact over a long period. The actual tasks etc vary a lot, based on what I heard from the last one, but it'll be a range of solo activities (give a speech about [x]), discussions (talk to this random person in the group about [x] and group predictions/judgements)
